Walks are through the 600 hectare Greater Kilmorna Conservancy where you might just encounter zebra, eland, bushbuck, the indigenous red duiker or grey duiker in their natural unspoiled environment. Remember to take your binoculars for some exciting and rare bird spotting.

A must, especially in spring and summer, is a visit to the Lowveld National Botanical Garden where there are over 600 naturally occurring plant species. Of the approximately 1000 tree species indigenous to South Africa, over 650 can also be seen in the garden.

Close to Kilmorna Manor is the Country Horse Trail center where you can unwind and enjoy the beautiful scenery on horseback.

For those who prefer transport of the four wheeled kind, then how about driving the Panorama route which includes the third largest canyon in the world, Blyde River Canyon, as well as the world renowned God's Window.
