More info about Wolwefontein

Just once in your lifetime whether you’re a fan of the Great Outdoors or not, you need to take a vacation at one of South Africa’s magnificent game reserves. And if you’re struggling to choose from the mind-blowing selection on offer, then the town of Wolwefontein is a pretty good place to start. Wolwefontein is situated in the Eastern Cape with the nearest cities being Port Elizabeth and Graaff-Reinet. This in itself is terrific as the town is well away from the bright lights and hustle and bustle of modern day life ensuring your vacation is all about the wildlife and bushveld. Think about taking game drives through areas you have never seen before and viewing all of the animals you would only have seen on television such as the lion, rhino, leopard, and giraffe … what about a romantic picnic at sunset amidst breathtaking scenery and the chirping of birds … all this and so much more awaits you in the town of Wolwefontein. Furthermore, Wolwefontein is located near to the famous Garden Route meaning that during the months of spring, the landscape is transformed into a magical escarpment of flowers – many of them rare and wild – infusing rich and bright colours throughout the region. Popular pastimes in this part of the world besides game viewing, bird watching, and checking out the flowers, include bicycle trails, hiking, picnicking, 4x4 trails, quad biking, and fishing out by the river. There are a few noteworthy attractions not too far out from Wolwefontein including Baviaanskloof Reserve, the Addo Elephant Park, and other destinations along the Garden Route. Easy day trippers can also be organized to the likes of Plettenberg Bay and Knysna.
