Goibib Mountain Lodge is a tranquil hideaway in the heart of the Great Karas Mountains in Southern Namibia, and an extremely easy drive from either north or south along the Windhoek to Cape Town main road. Simply take the B1 and drive until you see the sign between Grunau and Keetmanshoop!
Rather than being pursued by the Big Five or chased by stampeding herds of animals, bring your camera and capture all things great & small -- macro-photography brings the little things to light or explore the night life with fluorescent light and discover the nocturnal world around us.

We originally booked for camping at Goibib but as we needed to get a very early start to get across the border we decided to rather stay in the available rooms. We were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and enjoyed our stay in the clean and comfortable rooms. I would really recommend Goibib as a stay over, especially when travelling toward the SA border as it is only 2 hours away. PS: The camping facilities are also very neat and we would have loved to camp there.
To start we had a warm welcome that speaks for itself. The rooms are more than 5 star and the food was definately the best we ever had visiting a.lodge. To speak about the staff they are like family members and we will most definately visit this lodge again and recommend it any time to anyone.
On Christmas eve our overland groups accomm. advised of a double booking and zero availability. We called and spoke to Andre, the owner at Goibib, as a long shot...
Nothing was too much! The whole lodge was booked out for our group with a fantastic Christmas Eve Dinner that would be ready for them on arrival in the evening. Due to the size of the group we were unable to take them up on a game drive around the farm but the pool bar and property facilities were a welcome luxury!! AMAZING!!!
