We understand that the Coronavirus outbreak has been a cause for mass concern, particularly since the pandemic was escalated to the status of a global crisis. In response, we at Arniston Lodge has taken the decision in January 2021
to temporarily close all new bookings until further notice. All current bookings will be honoured. We have taken numerous precautions to ensure the hygiene and safety of our guests. This includes:
- All staff following stringent and relevant COVID-19 hygiene protocols
- Anti-bacterial soaps and alcohol-based sanitizers being placed in each unit
- Frequent cleaning of regularly touched surfaces and strong efforts being made
to upkeep the high hygiene and safety standards promised to our guests.
Feel free to contact us should you have further questions regarding our Lodge protocols during this time.

Arniston Lodge is a Traditional Guest House/ B&B. It is a charming two-storey thatched roof styled to merge with traditional cottages of the lovely fishing village of Kassiesbaai. We are just minutes from the nice beaches of Arniston.

We at Arniston Lodge provide you with excellent accommodation for up to 11 people. Our 5 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The lovely facility upstairs also provides a view of the ocean, dunes and Kassiesbaai. Berger Dreyer, your gracious host, speaks in English, Afrikaans and some German to provide you with a more personalized service.
The Lodge has the following amenities:

* Traditionally decorated Guest House
* Honesty Bar and fireplace
* Swimming pool
* En-suite bedrooms
* Internet access/Wi-Fi
* DSTV
* Outside Smoking
* Small pet friendly
* Private garden courtyard

The Upstairs bedrooms: One double bedroom upstairs charmingly under the thatch with full en-suite bathroom. It has a view of Kassiesbaai which is a national monument, the Arniston Dunes and part of the sea. Stylishly decorated and comes equipped with hairdryer, built-in safe and tea/coffee making facility.

One Single bedroom upstairs charmingly under the thatch with full en-suite bathroom. Stylishly decorated and comes equipped with hairdryer, built-in safe and tea and coffee making facility.

The Downstairs bedrooms: two bedrooms downstairs adjacent to the garden and the sparkling pool. Both are double bedrooms, en-suite showers, equipped with hairdryers, built-in safes and tea/coffee making facilities.

One Studio_Bedroom with double bed and a single bed, en-suite shower, equipped with hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

The swimming pool at Arniston Lodge is only but one of the many attractions at the Lodge. There is also a well-stocked honesty bar, huge open log fireplaces and a protected barbecue area which allows you to cook locally caught Galjoen or Yellow Tail. We offer white sand beaches that stretch for miles around, a play area of dunes, a large natural cave carved by the sea waves out of the lovely sandstone cliffs. Charming thatched whitewashed cottages add perfection to the picturesque quality.

Arniston Lodge's name was derived from the British East Indiaman shipwrecked on 1815. The wreck can still be seen along the beach. Local fishermen have lived here for more than 150 years.

Wonderful diving spots and splendid shells washing up on the beach are shared with travelers to the village. Numerous bird species such as the beautiful Blue Crane, the South African national bird, can be viewed in the region. The Southern Right whale can also be seen during the months of June to December. L'Agulhas is the southernmost town in the whole of Africa. It features a unique lighthouse, Bredasdorp with an interesting museum and the De Hoop Nature Reserve complete this lovely area.

We returned to Arniston Lodge after a visit 5 years ago, now being run happily by Berger who was an excellent host and did so much for us . Our visit culminated ina delightful occasion of watching the sunset from Struispunt, having been driven there in his splendid 4 by 4 ! We will be returning ...

We camped in our tent in the campsite as we love camping. On Sunday we had brunch at the Arniston Hotel which was superb.

we also went to the cave early Sunday morning.

This was not a "break-away trip" as we came through to attend a wedding in Bredasdorp, but I would like to come through for a whole weekend later this year, after winter.

Okay. 3 out of 5
