A truly magical experience. Lake cottage is fully kitted, neat, private and so beautiful. We had such a romantic stay in the heart of the reserve. Animals all around and they come up right to the cottage if you are out of sight. Sanele the chef's food was out of this world. She puts in so much effort and truly blew my mind with what she served us. We did a picnic on top of the mountain which again, was so private, romantic and peaceful I was blown away. The staff are perhaps the best part of our experience, super friendly, attentive and actually excited to see you every time that they do. Constant amazing views, service and activities. 10/10 recommend, everyone should experience a Zuluwaters stay!
Beautiful setting at the Lake Cottage with animals on your doorstep. The perfect place to get away and be submerged in beauty of nature. Had an incredible stay and would highly recommend Zulu waters! Thank you also to the lovely staff who worked so hard to accommodate us.
Great stay in a beautiful part of the country. Loved the seclusion and quietness of the location. Interiors were top notch with all the needs catered for. Just bring your food and drink.
We loved our stay at Zulu Waters. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the area is exquisitely beautiful. On our arrival, there was a mix-up with the bookings so that the Lake cottage was not ready yet, but the staff quickly put us up in Shaka house while they got the accommodation ready, and provided us with biltong and wine to make up for it. Once the mix-up was sorted, everything was great: the accommodation is beautifully designed and in a very tranquil area, with game coming right up to the houses. We went for a horse-back game viewing, and can definitely recommend it! Will visit again.
Stayed in the Shaka Lodge for little more than a week and got blown away by the amazing surroundings topped with a five star housing. The lodge is situated on a hill overlooking the green mountains of the Drakensberg World Heritage Site, already from the balcony you can spot all sorts of animals passing by from herds of Zebras to Rhino families. There is a tennis court with stunning views which we enjoyed to use. The chef, Mbongazeli not only prepares delicious and healthy meals but also cracks jokes and rounds up the overall incredible atmosphere of the place. Beautiful getaway, absolutely recommended!
Me and my partner were in the ZuluWaters Game Reserve for two weeks. We had a very impressive stay! The service was very courteous, especially the cook was excellent. He was very flexible and served very healthy and tasty dishes.
The whole Game Reserve is very spacious and untouched. You feel very connected to nature, there is the possibility to make individual game drives or to move freely on the terrain. One has a unique, very close experience of the native animals.
For sports activities there are various training equipment and a tennis court available.
There are also numerous activities in the surrounding area (Canopy Tours, Hiking, Drakensberg mountains World Heritage,...).
Zulu Waters Game Reserve stands for an ecologically sustainable company and supports local communities.
We had one of the best holidays of our lives and can only recommend the Game Reserve!
Quiet. No disturbances, no traffic noise, no cell phones, just viewing animals all day from your private deck, watching the storms roll in.
The perfect place to recharge your batteries! Loved it!
Great stay. Clean house. Relaxing and the silence, nice!
What a super place to stay.
5 star accommodation, beautiful food and the most amazing setting!
Best of all was the fishing!
Great rainbow trout and on the bite!
The setting is incredible over looking rolling hills and the dam with its Fish eagles is utterly beautiful!

The roads are bad, but the farms and scenery are beautiful.
Don't let the Mooi River area that you have to drive through put you off.
The country side.
Green clean and nice area!!

Easy to do the whole Midllands from there, plus you are 2 hours closer to Joburg on the way home.
