Francolin Cottage is a peaceful and quaint cottage situated on a river in the garden. Time stands still in the charming and unspoilt village of Greyton which is surrounded by the majestic Riviersonderend mountain range.

Sheltered by a huge oak tree, Francolin Cottage provides an unforgettable getaway for couples and families. Enjoy authentic village life in Greyton, sometimes described as the fusion of Stellenbosch and the Cotswolds in England - you may even meet the free-roaming cows and horses in the village!
Situated in the 'old' part of Greyton, Francolin Cottage is surrounded by typical village cottages, and is one of four where the Scholtz River runs through the garden! Stroll down the narrow gravel roads in the neighbourhood and absorb the peace and nostalgia of this beautifully preserved village.

Relax in the garden, cool off in the plunge pool, curl up with a book or enjoy one of the board games provided. Indulge in a home cooked meal, a braai around the fire pit or a wade in the river.

There are MTB and hiking trails as well as horse riding in the village. To experience real country life, bicycles can be hired to cycle around and view the lovely cottages and gardens.

Serene getaway, a moment away from Cape Town, great for a relaxing weekend of wine tasting, hiking and even mountain biking.

It is a beautiful, quiet town where you can rest, reset and enjoy nature - but with really good coffee and great little shops :)

Walking around town was very peaceful. I would love to do a trail walk on our next trip.

Greyton is a small, quaint and quiet village with lots to see and offer. A good selection of restaurants offering a range of cuisine options, coffee shops, galleries, Garden Centre, plus Greyton is ideal for outdoor adventures and adventurers. Many hiking and cycling trails, all marked and mapped, for the beginner to the advanced. An hour and a half from Cape Town, so an easy, beautiful drive, through the Overberg farmlands.
