Most pleasant interlude in the middle of suburbia. Really felt like we were out of town. Very eclectic décor and presents a unique African experience. Some amazing artwork and home made pieces set in a very nice environment.
Stunning artwork. Absolutely brilliant place. Lovely rooms, beautiful furniture. Very peaceful. Nice place to relax and unwind. Friendly staff. Fresh breakfast. They also do tours. Will definitely be back for that. Highly recommended.
Tucked away in a quiet residential area, the hotel is definitely one of a kind. The African artifacts and decor create a unique atmosphere and the views over the gorge are quite stunning. Breakfast was great, with a huge selection of both hot and cold options.
I enjoyed my stay at Ammazulu African Palace. Alta is awesome, so professional and friendly!!! The room was perfect, it was spacious with a lounge area as well as the patio with those amazing views. I loved the décor. Large bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place.
This is my second visit to Ammazula African Palace. I love staying here as it is so tranquil and the staff and managers are just wonderful. The rooms a spacious and breakfasts are enormous and delicious.
You really need 2 nights at this outrageous PALACE!
There is so much to take in and absorb,
What a wonderful Art collection.
If you interested in art this is an ideal spot to stay, but as I said you need a few hours to look through the place to really get the best out of your stay.
We had the front suite with views galore.
Breakfast at the refectory table is really good for single guests as you meet others in the establishment.
This is a most unusual experience.
This place is superb and the stuff is so friendly. The venue is very well styled with the African theme, its clean and well maintained... the location is a bit remote and far from the village shops and restaurants but its so relaxing and comfortable and you can have delivery for the food to your door.
Stayed a night in this amazing place. The art and decor is absolutely stunning and you actually get lost trying to absorb it all. The views from the balcony were breathtaking and our suite was fantastic and luxurious. The breakfast was superb and the staff are very eager to please.
A group of ten of us spent a night in the Ammazulu Palace at the end of our visit to KwaZulu Natal. It was quite difficult to find, and the driver of our small bus had difficulty negotiating the driveway towing a trailer. Once we arrived, we realized that it was well worth the effort. The hotel houses an extraordinary collection of African art that is beautifully displayed throughout the hotel and in the rooms. This art collection is amazing in its variety and size. This alone would make a visit worthwhile. The rooms are enormous and very comfortable. We occupied the Executive Suite, which is on the corner with magnificent views over the Kloof Gorge nature reserve. The exterior walls are glass, looking over an enormous balcony on two sides.
Breakfast was sumptuous and beautifully presented, with a wide selection available, including cooked to order eggs.
I attended a wedding at this truly eccentric and quaint boutique hotel I've loved in Highway area for 27 years and never knew it existed. If you want to visit a place that is different you have to come here in the heart of Kloof. The food was spectacular. The venue has filled every space with art decor. I visited one of the rooms kitted in true value style decor. I loved the staircase coming into eating area lovely wedding venue for small intimate wedding of 50 people. They do day tours and accommodation. Do go visit.
