A really nice place. It was comfortable, well-appointed and clean with very interesting and detailed décor. We enjoyed our stay there.
We stayed in the Presidential Suite & had the most wonderful stay. The staff were lovely& breakfast was the best we had in South Africa. Will definitely stay here again. It was incredibly relaxing & the view was lovely.
Ammazulu African Palace was an incredible experience, one not to be missed. The rooms, artwork, staff and food were all fantastic. Beautiful views of the Gorge and nature reserve. Serenity😃 Would return in a heart beat.
Perfect location to explore both North, South & the Midlands. Kloof is an upmarket quiet, leafy suburb where you can walk, cycle or go for a run. The Hotel is absolutely amazing, massive rooms with loads of African Arts and Crafts.
The Ammazulu African Palace is a unique experience at the edge of Kloof. The internal decor is stunning and something different. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The area is peaceful and quiet. The facilities is well maintained and clean. Truly a unique experience.
As a business traveler you see many hotels - but the Amamzulu African Palace is different. The decoration in the African Amazulu style is overwhelming. The whole house is colorful and overflowing with work of arts. Any time you discover something new. The house is located directly on the Kloof with a magnificent view of the valley. The terrace with its view is a great place to end the day with a beer or glass of wine.
The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and give no reason for complaint. The owner was very flexible regarding the time for breakfast. The rich breakfast itself was freshly prepared with fresh fruits, cereals, toast and eggs and bacon, etc.
I enjoyed the stay very much and would gladly come back.
Wow! Came down for a 40th and a break from the rat race and we left completely refreshed and rejuvenated! Secluded and quiet and all the amenities you could wish for. Perfect for a chilled breakaway with your loved one. We will definitely be back! I’ll bring my trail shoes next time as the Kloof is right next door.
What an amazing experience. Let's start with Alta, the manageress, not only did she respond to all our queries immediately, She was prepared to go above and beyond the call of duty. Her knowledge of the establishment was impressive. Ammazulu - we loved the clean, spacious rooms. The intricate African decor and artworks - breathtaking. The architural symmetry is something to behold. The decor doubling as acoustic instruments to stop any echoing in the cavenous hall is architectural ingenuity. The view over the valley is indescribably beautiful. Our breakfast was natural foods, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back to hike the Krantzkop gorge in the valley below, to sample the jacuzzi on offer and to have sundowners on the deck. Ammazulu is a winner!!!
We have stayed here twice now and can’t wait to go again. It is just on the edge of the greater Durban area but it feels like you’re out in the country being on the edge of Kloof gorge. The actual hotel decor is indescribably amazing it is magical. Rooms are very large, beds comfortable, cannot fault them on anything. The breakfasts are outstanding. This is a hidden gem that I would recommend for a weekend getaway for anyone, just go and stay there you will love it!
I have stayed over at this establishment a number of times. It remains one of the best experiences in guesthouses - the rooms, the view and the decor. I only noticed recently that they added a sauna to the experience!!! A must.
