The Retreat farm guest house is situated on Piket-bo-berg, approximately 150km outside Cape Town, Western Cape. The self catering farmhouse is tucked away on a small almond farm which is part of a large fruit farming business. The Piketberg mountain range has a Cape Fynbos climate with numerous plant and insect species unique to the area. The guesthouse is ideal for those seeking relaxation and privacy.

There are numerous activities such as: fynbos walks, mountain biking, bass fishing, kayaking and swimming. Retreat farm guesthouse is a 4 bedroom self-catering house that can be rented for a weekend getaway or for longer holiday periods. The house sleeps 8 people making it ideal for larger groups of friends and family. A large fully equipped kitchen is available with all amenities, utensils and a dishwasher. A lounge with TV and a Queen-Ann stove for cozy winter evenings is also available. DSTV can be activated at an extra cost

There is an enclosed stoep with an indoor braai and comfortable seating, overlooking the garden and orchards. An outside braai is also provided for peaceful summer evenings. Wood is available from the local community, first bundle provided. All linen and bath towels are included; please bring your own swimming towels. Servicing of the house can be arranged at an extra cost.

Retreat guest farm is situated on the dryer west coast of the Western Cape, but because of the unique climatic conditions on the mountain and substantially higher rainfall it has its own microclimate. We have numerous fynbos species endemic to the area, some listed by Kirstenbosch gardens as endangered. Retreat guest farm has a wide range of bird and animal life. Birders don't forget your binoculars. We are busy building a list of birds spotted on the mountain. Many species of buck are seen in the orchards and in the fynbos. We have seen a caracal wild cat close to the retreat house and the elusive Cape Mountain leopard has been sighted recently in the area.

Nature was beautiful. The drive around and through the mountain was breathtaking. We had no network in Piketberg but the lady at the Tourism office provided us with a map which enabled us to get our destination. If it was not for her we would have probably had to drive back home and have reached our destination. Therefore thumbs up and 5 stars to the people of Piketberg.
