Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast offers warm hospitality with comfortable accommodation in well appointed-bespoke rooms. The rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and private entrances off the garden. There is a lovely patio with living and dining facilities overlooking the swimming pool, valley and little berg - this for all to enjoy.
Unfortunately Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old, although should you book self catering we accommodate all ages. Self Catering must be booked directly with us, and is for the exclusive use of the property (sleeps 10 maximum).
A varied breakfast menu is on offer to cater to your specific tastes. You will find that as you enjoy these delicious breakfasts on our patio, whilst taking in the view....you will wonder at the magic of it all.
Whether you choose to lie at the pool and read or get out and about exploring - you will find this beautiful place induces great peace and relaxation. Rejuvenation is not an option but just a natural process whilst visiting Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast, in the Champagne Valley.
With respect we do not cater for Halaal, or Kosher, or special diets, although we feel that all persons will find something delicious to eat. We will try to accommodate special needs where possible, however due to our remote location access to specialized food items is limited.
Champagne Valley is an area of outstanding beauty situated in the Central Drakensberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, only 2.5 hours drive from Durban and 4 hours from Johannesburg. The two highest peaks, Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak are found here and often in Winter to be found snow capped. Summers are generally warm with temperatures ranging from 25-37 degrees. Winters are generally cool with temperature ranging from 3-21 degrees on a hot day.
The area offers beauty around every corner - each site with a new and different view of the magnificent Drakensberg. The Monks Cowl National Park is in close proximity and easily accessible. There is much to do in the region, and especially the valley.
In Room Facilities:
The rooms comprise full en-suite bathroom; Tea & coffee making facilities with a mini bar fridge and is fully serviced daily. The added luxury of down duvets, and cotton percale / sateen bed linen and fluffy towels makes your stay even more comfortable. Each room is individually decorated and bespoke.
Rooms are equipped with fans and heaters and should you require an inter-leading rooms, this is available on request.
