Muweti Bush Lodge and the surrounds are somewhat unique. They offer an opportunity for Africa's large game to live in harmony with man as the reserve is home to several families, including your hosts, who make this part of the world their home amongst the wilds.

The positioning of the tented chalets gives a truly unusual sense of fusion with the bush, and an opportunity to sleep in close proximity to the wilds of Africa. Each chalet has a king-sized 4 poster bed, with full en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Although the chalets are privately situated and close to the bush, they are accessed from the lodge and there is safe walking territory between the lodge and the chalets.

In addition to the tented chalet accommodation there is a self-catering cottage that gives you an opportunity to do your own thing on a self-catering basis. The cottage has a main bedroom with a queen-sized 4 poster bed and en-suite shower, as well as a second bedroom with 2 single beds and en-suite shower.

Relax on the pool side deck and wait for game to come and drink at the waterhole. Often unique elephant encounters are experienced in this way. Or relax at the pool gazing onto the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance with the bushveld right in front of you.

After a light lunch, by arrangement, an excursion to local places of interest can be arranged.

In the later part of the afternoon, enjoy a sundowner on the banks of the Olifants River, followed by an evening/night drive to see some of the nocturnal animals. This will pave the way for a return to the lodge.

Sit under the magnificently clear skies dazzling with a spectacle of stars. Be comforted by a slowly burning campfire and enjoy a delicious truly South African meal.

Your hosts Laura and Mike will attend to your every need without being intrusive. Our mission is to share with our guests our love and passion for Muweti and the bush.

Whether you stay overnight, for a week or for a month, our personal commitment to you as the guest will be the same.

Please note meals are NOT included in the self-catering cottage.

Definitely the highlight of our south africa adventure! Nice tented chalets, awesome pool area and a relaxed atmosphere. The greater kruger reserve is so beautiful and lush in nature&animals. Since it's less crowded than the kruger your able to get much more closer to the animals and watch them while you learn a lot about them and the nature from Mike! After checkin you have some relax time before the sunset/afternoon drive. Half way there just at sunset you'll have a sundowner and watch the sunset on a special place before heading out to search for animals again. The sky is so beautiful without all the lights you have normally in a village. When you return to the lodge the camp fire is already burning and you'll watch then cooking dinner above it! Dinner is great and they handle diet restrictions very well if you mention before arrival! Next morning a early wake up for you're morning drive you leave in the dark to see the sunrise and night animals/predictors. Later you have some coffee/thee at the river with a South African rusk! Then last part of the game drive some refreshing time and then breakfast witch is also great with lots of choices(love the French toast) and huge portions. This place truly feels like home and has stolen our hearts! Mike and Laura(and the staff) are such lovely great people doing everything they can to make you're holiday awesome. They are also aware of nature and preserving that! Keep up the good work we'll be back when we get the chance! We recommend to stay at least 2 nights for the full experience but be aware you'll never want to leave ;)

Superb. 5 out of 5
