Guests find Brandkop Guest Farm extremely comfortably situated and easy to reach. Perfectly placed on the circle route via the Waterfall, Quiver tree forest and the Wild flower reserve, back to Nieuwoudtville.
This unpretentious sanctuary promises a truly relaxing experience in an unhurried environment – somewhere to unwind, sleep deeply and be yourself.
There is so much to do here: mountain-biking, bird-watching or hiking to the quiver tree forest; or if you’re lazy you might just prefer to read a good book outside and let nature come to you. That’s the daytime covered. As for the night, there’s only one place to be… stargazing from the stoep into the extraordinarily dark, pollution-free sky.
Here the emphasis is on all the right things: efficient down-to-earth comfort with thoughtful touches of hospitality and country charm. Add to this the luxury of goose-down duvets, handmade by the women of the farm and you’ll simply want to stay for a week!
Guests return again and again to one of the most beautiful wild flower experiences in South-Africa. It is an incredible area to explore with so much to see…

Reviews
We absolutely loved the rustic ambiance of our cottage. Elizna and Pieter are really going the extra mile for their guests, making sure Brandkop is a place where your body and soul can rest. We are only sorry we could not stay longer!
A quiet and out-of-the-way farm cottage. Off-grid in all aspects, so relaxation is the name of the game. Well equipped and wonderfully clean. Sleeps four in two en-suite bedrooms.
Wonderful place. Peaceful, amazing night skies. Great walks and cycling on a working farm. Comfortable beds and linen and a well equipped house. Elizna and Piet were great hosts. we will be back.
Lovely rustic true Karoo experience. Enjoyed the fireplace in the living area!
We had a superbly relaxing stay in the little basic cottage - no noise, starry skies, the odd bleat of a sheep and the highlight is being so close to the quiver trees where hours were spent. Thank you Elizna for your warm welcome and hospitality and we hope and pray for some rain
Baie lekker oornagverblyf- alles skoon en netjies, baie gemaklik en lekker geslaap. Huisie pragtig van binne. Stilte en rustigheid van plaasomgewing geniet.
We had the most enjoyable, relaxing time at Brandkop. The cottage was superb, lovely linen, well appointed and very quiet. The flowers around Nieuwoudville were superb. A lovely experience and we would do it again.

Nieuwoudtville Reviews
Nature experiences
We love going on alternate routes and roads less travelled. Nieuwoudtville is at the crossroads of several of these. It is delightfully antique and rural and the scenery is stark and harshly beautiful. We recommend the waterfall (even if not flowing) and the quiver tree forest and the Brandkop village ruins (for photographers).
Lovely town. great flowers and surrounds.
The beauty of the little town. The views and flowers in flower season. The ruins. The waterfalls. The Botanical garden. The trees along the streets. The people. Just the beauty and tranquility. Such a delight to see
Stayed at Karabo Lodge Self Catering. Well recommended.
Besides the annual spring flower show there are various other points of interest such as the waterfalls and kloof, the Kokerboom forest, an amazing private motorbike collection and the Oorlogskloof a little further.
Fantastic flowers in Nieuwoudtville.
It is a great destination in the flower season.
We were lucky to have beautiful weather and the display flowers on the various farms were superb.
We particularly liked the trekpad with its large variety of annual flowers.
We enjoyed the local cuisine at Matjiesfontein padstal & Smidswinkel restaurant.
Flowers and flowers easily found. Buy Skuinskoek at Skuinskoek Paleis.
