Guests can book the 4-sleeper Rooikat Main Cottage or the 2-sleeper open-plan Rooikat Small Cottage which are adjacent to each other.
The Rooikat Main Cottage is furnished with king-size or 2 single beds and 2 single sleeper couches in lounge. Rooikat Small Cottage is furnished with a queen-size bed. Each cottage comprises a private bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower, a kitchenette with a stove, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities, and a TV with DStv. A DVD player and a collection of DVDs, and free capped Wi-Fi is provided.

Clarens is a small town situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in the Free State province of South Africa and nicknamed the "Jewel of the Eastern Free State".

What a peaceful and restful home from home one experiences at Rooikat. Relaxing in the evenings on the verandah with a beautiful view of the mountains is very good for the soul. Trudy, the host, is warm and welcoming and goes more than the extra mile for her guests. Thank you Trudy for such a special time at Rooikat. Margaret.
Lovely place, clean, neat with everything you need and near to the centre of town. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Arrangements were managed efficiently and I was welcomed by a friendly hostess upon arrival. Equipped to cover every basic need, the cool cottage was a convenient base from which to enjoy the town's activities or simply relax while taking in the magnificent view from the well kept garden. I left feeling that the stay was way too short and needs a follow-up visit. Thank you for making this a memorable weekend.

Beautiful view, and lovely place!
Rooikat Cottage is one of the most professionally run establishments that we have ever seen. It is well-designed and comfortable, and just everything you can think of (and some you would not think of) is just exactly as it should be.
The stay at Rooikat was excellent, very neat, clean and well situated and very well equipped.
A very peaceful, quiet and beautiful garden, located beneath the mountains, near all attractions of Clarens !! Magnificent views, healthy walks, mountain climbing and nature reserved, plenty restaurants and beverages outlets!!
My partner and I were over the moon about the change of accommodation with Trudy's agreement.
The layout was of an excellent if somewhat dated appeal.
The accommodation was very clean and gave an impression of providing excellent value .
The location was very much what was on offer and gave my partner and i the easy of walks to the area .
i would recommend Rooikat/Rooiland cottage --and would return if that service was available again.

We love exploring Golden Gate, wondering through the shops in the Town and visiting our favourite Clarens Brewery. We enjoy supporting the smaller farm restaurants in the area. Highland Brew was a lovely new addition to this trip.
Variety
Main roads to town are recommended for daylight use only. Small town atmosphere but with a wide variety of activities and stores. The annual Titanic Challenge Trail Run was my main attraction - stunning views!
Everything....food, quality of shops...felt safe...clean...friendly people....
Love all the shops and restaurants there is. Surrounded by mountains. Perfect breakaway for winter or summer.

Small, quaint, but very lively little town with spectacular views all around. Hiking is a must and can be done on the edge of town. We stayed at Views and the hiking trail was on our back door. Beautiful, beautiful little town offering great food, culture, entertainment and beautiful hiking trails.
