Suikerbossie Guest farm is a working family farm. This piece of paradise is situated in the southernmost part of the Cederberg, in the Koue Bokkeveld between Citrusdal and Ceres on the R303. Being part of the Cederberg Leopard Conservation area, we're also protecting a large variety of small game which may be observed by spotlight during night rides. It is 30 km from Citusdal and 90km from Ceres. The farm was developed 36 years ago. Only 30 hectare are farmed with fruit, the rest - 1 400 hectare, is virgin land. Nature at its best! Suikerbossie is known for its river, canyons, and beautiful rock formations. It is a paradise for swimming in the summer. The Koue Bokkeveld's best kept secret!

To camp on Suikerbossie was one nostalgic experience taking me back to my youth visiting my grandparents on their farm. On the lush green campsite's lawn at the river, the wonderful sound of nature, listening to birds, a cock somewhere or a donkey bulking, I found myself in the most wonderful place of peace.
We went for long hikes on the different trails. We spent time swimming in the river. Hired a tube and soaked up the sun. They also have canoes to hire. Went on their swimming trail down the river's rock pool and spent a whole afternoon experiencing the different waterfalls down the canyon. Their night's star gazing tractor drive to the Bushman rocks and looking for rock drawings with a torch was a first for me!
Was taken on a donkey cart drive and made the acquaintance with 4 beautiful nature donkeys. They baked "rooster koeke". (Buns made on coals) and one could eat it right there with farm butter, home-made jams and cheese! Having this with fire brewed filter coffee in an enamel cup...nostalgic!
What can I say about Suikerbossie Guest farm? It brings out the child in everyone!

The wide open spaces, the barren beauty and the age old rock formations and starry night skies.
