One supposes that people like self-catering because they enjoy cooking. And if you do, then you’ll love Tangleberry Cottage. Situated forty-five minutes to an hour from Cape Town and 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, it’s a self-catering retreat recently established and fitted with excellent cooking equipment and food preparation utensils that would please any gastronome, chef or cook. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside is a wood-burning oven and a traditional braai area.
The 2 bedroom-en-suite cottage, accommodating a maximum of 2 couples, is located in a romantic setting in the heart of the Elgin Valley. It’s completely private – partly encircled by a lake and surrounded by an edible landscape of almonds, walnuts, pecan, avocado, mango, fig, cherry and various fruit trees – all newly planted.

Elgin Reviews
The Elgin Railway Market.
Close enough to get there quick and far enough to escape the 'citylife' and experience forests, home made bakes and beautiful farms...
Great weather and a great Railway market.
Not much to do. It's more so suited for people who want to unwind.
The wine farms and Old Mac Daddy.
The peacefulness and friendliness.
The green orchards, the vineyards, the mountains.
The markets and ziplining
The wonderful cuisine available at 5 star establishments.
Walk, wine tasting, relaxing, close to cape town, but different environment.
