The Guardians are situated on a working farm at the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg, in the busy little town of Elliot, which offers wonderful activities against a backdrop of dramatic mountain scenery. The Guardians is just 5 km out of town.
The Guardians offers accommodation in a beautiful setting, in luxurious thatched cottages and family units. Guests have a choice of self-catering or bed and breakfast accommodation, with dinner available by prior arrangement.
Activities in the surrounding area include rock art sites, fly-fishing, horse riding, hiking trails, and 4x4 trails.
Wedding Venues: There is a 43 seater Chapel with a mountain view for weddings. Please inquire for price.
The road to the accommodation is a dirt road.

Richard was very warm and welcoming. The room was lovely, the bed was very comfy. Everything was spotlessly clean.

A lovely cottage beautifully positioned on a working farm.

Wonderful overnight stay. We booked Olive Cottage and it was extremely well equipped, comfortable and private. We can happily recommend.
The setting is incredible- majestic mountains. Rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable.
