The Courtyard Guest House is part of the Courtyard Cafe, which alongside the bakery & deli is famous for its breakfasts.

Built in a modern style to take advantage of the beautiful views, we have 4 double rooms, all located above the bakery, so prepare to be awoken by the smell of freshly baking bread and croissants.

Hot air balloons can often be seen drifting across the valley in front of your balcony; why not book a flight, and make your stay ultra special?

Our rooms can be booked on a room only basis, which gives you the option of trying out the many other restaurants in the village, or include breakfast, and join us at your leisure in the cafe.

Our housekeeper services the rooms daily.
In Room Facilities:
Queen beds with electric blankets, flat screen TV with DStv, Bathroom en-suite with heated towel rails and a shower only (Glynns Cottage has a full bathroom), towels and toiletries.
Tea & coffee tray with fresh milk and complementary bottled water provided in a bar fridge. Sherry for a nip on those chilly evenings.
Each room is on the second floor of the building and has a private balcony providing spectacular mountain views.
Other extras include a fan, oilfin heater, hairdryer and key-less access
Glynns Cottage has a full kitchen with microwave, toaster, oven, kettle, fridge/freezer, so ideal for a family of 4.

Area Information:
Clarens is an easy 3 and half hours from Johannesburg, 3 from Bloemfontein and just over 4 hours from Durban.

Its a great stop over for folks road-tripping to the Cape or families meeting up for a weekend catch-up.

Ficksburg hosts the annual Cherry Festival in November which draws visitors from far and wide.

Don't forget the Clarens Craft Beer Festival which takes place on the village square the last week of every February.

And for those who are a little bit more energetic, there is the Amohela and the Double 90 cycle races which afford you a more up close view of our area.

Jane went out of her way to contact us, as there was a concern about water supply to town. As usual the breakfast at The Courtyard was outstanding. Bedrooms were cleaned beautifully. I would recommend a stay at The Courtyard to all our friends.

We stayed overnight in the 2 bed cottage. It was very nice. We had to leave early and asked for a packed breakfast, and boy did we get one! A wonderful selection of baked goods, ham and cheese, juice, fruit. It was fantastic.

FOREVER CLARENS WAS JUST THE BEST !!!!! :)
We stayed in the Family unit and it was 7 STAR - Couldn't wish for any better
Jaco & Myrna are wonderful, Everything was organised and ready for us, communication was a pleasure on whats app. And another BIG bonus is that we parked our car, and only got back into it when our stay ended. Town is a few paces away and CLARENS is just so chilled and relaxed.
Will be back to Forever Clarens For Sure :)

So many great little restaurants and stores to explore! So hard to just pick a favorite. Really enjoyed the Gin tasting at Red Rock as well as the beer tasting at the brewery. Great and friendly service. A great town to explore the surrounding scenery from.

The hikes and the quaint town experience formed a great mix of getting outside while still being able to go into town and browse around.
