Boulders Beach Lodge and Restaurant is situated just 70 meters from the World Heritage Site of Boulders Beach renowned for it's breeding African Penguin Colony. This is one of the 'must see' recommendations for tourists visiting Cape Town. With our close proximity it's easy to have the beach to oneself and to wake up with the penguins.

Boulders Beach Guest Lodge offers 11 simply decorated en suite rooms and 2 self catering family units all with private access, with most rooms located off a sheltered courtyard. Our 2 family suites sleep 5 in two bedrooms (one double and one twin room with single bed and bunk) with a family bathroom, an open plan lounge area and equipped kitchenette make them ideal for travelling families or friends sharing. Stunning sea views from their patio outside is the perfect place to wake up to. Our rates include breakfast, except for our Sea View and Fair View self catering units. Guests in these rooms can take breakfast in our restaurant if prefer to self catering, at their own expense.

Our Lodge houses our Reception, Restaurant and Gift Shop. Our Restaurant Deck provides breathtaking views over False Bay and our Restaurant is open throughout the day from 8:30-8:00pm, serving coffees, breakfast, snacks and dinner, made by our chef with the freshest ingredients and a menu to cater to all. Our gift shop below the deck, supplies everything from ice creams to sun creams, locally crafted souvenirs, buckets & spades and all manner of penguin paraphernalia.
In Room Facilities:
Due to the peaceful, contemplative nature of the environment, our rooms do not have televisions.
Each room is equipped with comfortable cotton linen, fresh towels, tea and coffee making facilities.
Welcome shortbread on arrival.
Hairdryers and adaptors available on request.

Area Information:
The historic Naval town of Simons Town is situated approx. 40 km from Cape Town & 29 kms from Cape Town International Airport in the southern peninsular of Cape Town. We are located just 20 minutes from Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope (convenient for early access to the park), and are surrounded by mountain and ocean views. There are a variety of beautiful drives over to the Pacific side and day scenic trips to explore this beautiful southern peninsular.
The coastal harbour town of Kalk Bay is a 25 minute drive with it's ecletic mix of boutique shops, collectables, restaurants, galleries and a small theatre.
Noordhoek is an easy 20 minutes drive away and offers horse riding on Long Beach, a weekly Wednesday evening market, music evenings, shops, delhi's and restaurants all at Noordhoek Farm Village. The southern most vineyard, Cape Point Vineyard is also located at Noordhoek and hosts a weekly Thursday market in summer season. From here the famous Chapman's Peak drive starts in Noordhoek, taking in breath taking views along this inspired engineered road alongside the mountain, and down into Hout Bay.

Property Facilities:
Wifi is available for those who can't get away!
We are blessed to have the penguins as regular visitors and they have been known to sleep outside your window.
Breakfast is served on the restaurant deck overlooking False Bay from 8:30-11:30am and the restaurant stays open throughout the day until 8pm
ATM on site.

Attractions:
The lodge is situated a mere 13 km away from Cape Point and has spectacular views over False Bay. If you are seeking peace, tranquility in a unique and relaxing surrounding then the Boulders Beach Lodge is the hideaway you are looking for.
With so much to see and do in the southern peninsular, we strongly recommend staying more than one night to make the most of all we have on offer.

I enjoyed a delightful stay at the Boulders. It was wonderful to see the penquins walking around from time to time. It is a lovely quiet spot and the view from the restaurant is beautiful.

This was my first time in Cape Town. After a few days staying in the Green Point area of Cape Town, I decided to "hang out" with the African Penguins and booked 7 days at the Boulder's Beach Lodge & Restaurant. The stay at the Lodge was the highlight of my trip to South Africa. After the first two nights going to Cape Town to party, I spent the rest of the time exploring Boulder's Beach area and nearby towns. Since the instant I arrived at the Lodge, I felt like home. The staff was very friendly, professional and courteous, from management to waiters to housekeeping. A had nice clean room with a great shower. The restaurant served great food. The dishes were well presented and they were delicious. My favorite dishes were the carpaccio, the kudu and the melba pudding. The lodge is located next to the African Penguin Colony so you could see penguins walking in the parking lot.

Next time I'm in Cape Town, I will be staying here again. It is worthy.

It really is a must see town, there is a scratch patch with the most beautiful stones. Boulders beach is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the penguins and plenty of shops to browse, plus a very nice yacht club with plenty of spots to choose from to grab something to eat.

All the wonderful things to see and do!! We stayed at Boulders Beach Lodge where, from the deck, we saw penguins walking in the car park!! Really awesome stuff!!! Boulders Penguin Colony is something else. Do yourself a favour and get there!

Then there's the Jubilee Square Craft Market and the Harbour (we liked Fran's Place and her story), we visited the Toy Museum, danced to live music at 2 and 6 Pence, enjoyed the elegance of the Lord Nelson Inn where we had pizza and watched the Champions League final, spent a laid back afternoon sitting at the Black Marlin having wine and oysters and just watching the boats down below and then views, views and more views!! Absolutely breathtaking!

We'll be coming back to camp at Smitswinkel Bay (bucket list stuff!) and at another time at Miller's Point, can't wait!!!

P.S. Was surprised and sad to see that the British Hotel is closed. I really wanted to have a sort of tour of the inside if they'd have allowed me. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what is happening there?

The olde world character, views, restaurants, the penguins, Cape Point, the beaches, paddle skiing, scuba diving, golf, hikes, coffee shops, horse rides on Long Beach, wine tasting at Cape Point Vineyards, museums and boat trips.
