Stepping into this historic 125-year-old Karoo cottage, you are reminded for a moment of a time when folk sat on the vine-covered patio gazing at the stars glinting behind mountain silhouettes and listened to the gushing of the water and chiming church bells.

This fresh, quaint cottage with its original wooden floors and high ceilings has been lovingly restored and features quality touches that promise a very comfortable stay. It is central but private and you may choose to stroll to the restaurant of your choice or simply explore the picturesque streets.

The cottage consists of three spacious bedrooms and sleeps up to six guests in one queen-size bed, a double bed and twin single beds. There are also two stylish bathrooms, one with an original iron bath and another with a large shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove and oven, and tea, coffee and rusks are supplied. Off-street parking is available. There is an outdoor braai area and an undercover seating area.

Family friendly: Located in the quiet and peaceful town of Prince Albert, where children and the elderly can still walk around and feel safe. There are a lot of wide open spaces, and many interesting things to do in the town and area

Lovely little gem of a town. Lots of things to do, eateries and little shops and galleries to visit. At the base of the most spectacular mountain pass in all Africa.

The charm and character of this town impressed me. The Karoo gardens are beautiful and there are interesting local products for sale. I recommend the book shop in Marlene's home.

The variety of things to do from hiking to cycling down a mountain, wine tasting, general relaxing in the various restaurant / gift shops. HIGHLIGHT SWARTBERG PASS!

Prince Albert is a lovely little town at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains.
What struck me in particular is how clean the streets are and the friendliness of the locals.
We went to a movie in “The Showroom” and were surprised to find such an amazing Art deco gem in the middle of the Karoo. “The Showroom” boasts state-of-the-art theatre and cinema equipment, making it suitable to facilitate and attract some of the country’s top performers.

Superb. 5 out of 5
