The Purple Dog is a spacious, neat, modern house, full of fresh character and flooded with light. The upmarket furniture and artistic interior mixes perfectly in keeping with its location: sun-kissed open plan living, dining and kitchen area with bar, cooking island and a hobby chef's array of pots, pans and appliances.
In winter the under floor heating and a free standing fireplace will keep you warm while you enjoy a glass of red wine from our area.
In summer (or actually all year round) enjoy the diverse outdoor activities such as walking and mountain biking or just relax and indulge in this wonderful getaway. The huge patio and a shady entertainment area under a beautiful old oak tree are an invitation to entertain your family and friends for a braai.
The Purple Dog is ideal for groups of friends looking to getaway together and family holidays. The self catering house offers 3 modern bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with all amenities for up to 6 guests with excellent quality beds and linen and 2 additional folding mattresses (including blankets, pillows and linen) if there are more children. Towels are also provided. There are two bathrooms and plenty of space inside and outside the house with inviting open lounge dining areas.
The house is perfectly located between the popular Saturday Greyton Morning Market (that shouldn’t be missed) and the Nature Reserve. A lovely private garden with citrus trees and stunning mountain views will spoil your soul and make you wish to stay forever. Therefore, to really appreciate the beauty of the surroundings and to experience Greyton at its best, a 2 night stay is recommended.

Greyton Reviews
Serene getaway, a moment away from Cape Town, great for a relaxing weekend of wine tasting, hiking and even mountain biking.
Great town!
Beautiful village in the mountains and wonderful people and scenery.
Beautiful, quaint little town nestled in the Overberg mountains. Perfect for a weekend getaway!
It is a beautiful, quiet town where you can rest, reset and enjoy nature - but with really good coffee and great little shops :)
Relaxed and quaint village with lots of outdoor activities, hiking, walking and mountain biking, birding or just strolling around the village or nature reserve.
We can walk everywhere.
Walking around town was very peaceful. I would love to do a trail walk on our next trip.
Greyton is a small, quaint and quiet village with lots to see and offer. A good selection of restaurants offering a range of cuisine options, coffee shops, galleries, Garden Centre, plus Greyton is ideal for outdoor adventures and adventurers. Many hiking and cycling trails, all marked and mapped, for the beginner to the advanced. An hour and a half from Cape Town, so an easy, beautiful drive, through the Overberg farmlands.
The town was extremely quiet.
