Kouga Wildernis is a family run farm and the Ferreiras have been living on “Kleinrivier” since 1815. It forms part of the Baviaanskloof mega reserve and is nestled in the Kouga mountains about 28km north of the town Joubertina on the R62.
Accommodation is set in magnificent landscapes and consists of a farmhouse, two cottages, a campsite and a secluded bush camp.
Numerous adventure activities are offered including spectacular hiking trails, 4x4 routes, scenic drives, kloofing, mountain bike routes, fishing, abseiling and rock climbing.
It is a working farm with apricots, sheep and harvesting of Honeybush tea. Farming activities can be observed at close quarters and is particularly interesting during harvesting time from December till mid- February when sun-drying of fruit is in progress.
Swim in natural crystal clear pools or in our swimming pool or try catching Black Bass in the nearby Kouga River. Explore the mountain streams in search for the rare redwing fish or the very scarce, indigenous Galaxias Zebratus, or identify some of the variety of birds seen on the farm such as the Fish eagle, Knysna- and Vleiloerie.
