Aquaelberg Place is a large home with spacious and tastefully furnished rooms, Each with their own bathroom. each suite has its own exit to a private balcony or patio. There is a huge lounge area with a pool table and a fireplace. furnishing is in the style of the home as well as the history of the old Quarter area. There are 2 barbeque (braai) areas. You are welcome to choose a book from the library, sunbathe on the sundeck, relax in a hammock, or just relax in the very well established garden.we now have a private enclosed area where you can now cool off in our splash pool or unwind in the solar heated jacuzzi.
In Room Facilities:Each bedroom is furnished individually with their own character to compliment the style of the house as well as the history of the area. There is a Dstv in some rooms and netflix in others, wall heaters and ceiling fans.Serendipity has a mini kitchenette, consisting of a zink, microwave, kettle , fridge, plates and cutlery. All the rooms have a fridge, kettle with cookies,coffee and teas well as hairdryers.
There is also a mini kitchenette on the landing for guests to use in Willow and Grapevine.
Aqualberg Place is at the foot of the Langeberg mountains and is situated in the old quarter. This is a very quite and scenic area with many bird species. This is a safe area to go for long walks. The museums and restaurants are 900m from us within walking distance. most of our guests walk to and from the restaurants. It is safe to walk or cycle in Swellendam.
Property Facilities:Aquaelberg offers secure onsite parking, DSTv and free WiFi in all rooms. the large public area has a pool table and fire place. patios and sun decks with stunning mountain and garden views. Hammocks are available for those who just want to rest with a book from our library. There are two braai (barbeque) areas and plenty of hidden garden seating in which to relax.There is a splash pool and outside jacuzzi in the garden with a sundeck and deck chairs this area is enclosed for privacy.
Attractions:With so many attractions it would be advised to at least do a two day stay. Museums and restaurants are in walking distance. Every Saturday there is a Park run that starts at 8am at the entrance of the Marloth Nature Reserve about 6 km away. The entrance to the Bontebok National Park's gate is about 8km away,here you can view the Bontebok, mountain zebra as well as other indigenous animals.This is an ideal place to stay when visiting De Hoop national park [where whales as well as wild life can be viewed] , Witsand, Cape Infanta and Malgas can also be day trips.at Malgas you can board the ferry with your can and cross the breede river.

Swellendam is a quaint little town, friendly people and plenty of unique coffee shops. The perfect destination for a short weekend vacation away form the busy city.
We popped in to Swellendam town on the way home for a delightful lunch off the main street.
