Really enjoyed this campsite.
It is neat and shady.
Lots of hot water
The place is rustic and everyone is chilled. Bathrooms were basic but spotless. No specific campsites are allocated, so we were able to get a very nice large site, although there were lots of rocks under our tent (my own fault). And the dogs... oh my goodness, what a joy! I took Charley my dag with. All the dogs were off their leashes and were delightful. There was no barking at night or dog mess like one may expect. There were no ugly fights, and I was overjoyed that Charlie could be off leash and safe. The hosts are wonderful people. We were able to feel at home and will definitely be back!
Very pleasant and quiet. Very friendly personnel.
Lovely camping retreat, 45mins from jhb. Nice camp sites and ablutions. There is electricity and water for campers. Bring an extension lead though. Very peaceful and tranquil.
We enjoyed our time very much. Spacious camping grounds.
Overall we loved it at Sleepy river.
Will go again!
Had a great time camping.
Clean and neat bathroom facilities.
Unfortunately just a lot of thorns over the grassy areas.
The kids needed to wear shoes or suffer.
As a first time camper, I had the time of my life, it was awesome, I would definitely recommend.... Magalies sleepy river is a 100 out of 100 for me!
It was a wonderful long weekend, the camp was nice and full but still no noise and everyone was friendly. Our dogs had a great time too. We will definitely be going yo Sleepy River again. Thanks to all the people there for making it such a memorable place to stay.
So relaxing with a nice sound of birds and river flowing . Nature mind calming.
This comfortable, pet-friendly campsite is a great choice for a getaway to rejuvenate mind and soul. The tranquil big campground is set in one of the Magalies most beautiful valleys. The Campsites offer immaculate clean ablutions with washing up and scullery facilities, as well as electric and non-electric campsites. From where the campsite is situated, you can choose from a range of hikes. A beautiful large pool with many thatched pergolas complete with clean tables and chairs and braai facilities, volley ball setup, trampoline and huge open space to cater for own activities, is inviting. All facilities are clean and impeccably kept. The canteen was an added bonus. Spacious camping stands, caravan and tents. I can see this being a great option for so many types of campers who are looking for access to amenities like clean showers and bathrooms, hookups, garbage disposal and more. The Bird life included a variety of birds. The hospitality is great and Marie is surely a great hostess. I would highly recommend Magalies Sleepy River.

Close, with quiet places to stay as well as the basic ammenities.
Beautiful magical, with so much to do.

Going to the upside-down house
Travel by day prevents being surprised by potholes, so pack in some patience when heading this way. Magaliesburg's Little Roadhouse had friendly service and fabulous slap chips. The Route 66 Events held at Mt Grace Hotel were most enjoyable. Looking forward to our next visit.
History of the Magaliesberg.
Peacefulness and tranquility, abundance of nature, away from the city
Hiking and Wildlife.
The open spaces and the peace and quiet.

Lots of hikes, clay pigeon shooting and lovely restaurants and breweries.
Beautiful area with lots to do but great to unwind and relax.
