360 on 62 offers self-catering farm cottage accommodation with 360-degree mountain views on a working farm just 7 kilometers outside the charming village of Montagu, in the Little Karoo on the R62. A mere 2 hours drive from Cape Town brings one through the stone portals of Cogmanskloof to the Little Karoo and the charming village of Montagu. This historic village lies in a fertile valley enclosed by the Swartberg and Langeberg mountain ranges.

The restoration process of the cottages was executed with great sensitivity and attention to detail in order to maintain an authentic flavor. They are simplistic but well-equipped with linen, crockery, and cutlery, as well as a gas cooker and microwave for indoor cooking. Each cottage has its own braai facility on its patio. The cottages do not have TVs to distract you from the sounds of birdsong, or the call of jackals and foxes. Spotted eagle owls and Cape eagle owls are handsome predators and are often seen and heard at the cottages.
Property Facilities:
A communal braai facility at the swimming pool enables a large group to braai together in the Lapa. The pool overlooks the majestic Langeberg Mountains and is a great setting for a sundowner, or for simply lazing around on a hot day.

Area Information:
Springtime is a vygie flower-lovers delight and a truly lovely time of year to visit the Klein Karoo. Come and relax in the country and enjoy the magnificent display of flowers on your doorstep. The farm affords some productive birding spots and our birding list of 75 species include the African fish eagle, the vulnerable blue crane and different species of waterfowl on the dam.

In Room Facilities:
Pale Chanting Cottage:

Pale Chanting Cottage, which is back-to-back with Fish Eagle, faces an area of typical Klein Karoo plain and a mountain backdrop. The plain is the hunting ground of our resident pale chanting goshawks, and they are readily observed from the little patio. The cottage sleeps a couple in a double bed and has also retained its “Hansel and Gretel” look and huge fireplace of bygone days. The bathroom has a shower and toilet, and views that could make the mind dwell forever. Views of valleys, mountains, and orchards provide ample opportunities to reflect, meditate and recharge the weary spirit. Each cottage is equipped with linen, and down and wool duvets for colder nights, as well as cutlery and crockery, and everything else you may need to pursue your culinary desires.

Bokmakierie Cottages:

Bokmakierie cottages sleep two in a double bed and has a Victorian bathtub in the bedroom, and a toilet discreetly hidden behind reed-clad walls. Restored reed ceilings and original fireplaces in the kitchens enhance their once-upon-a-time atmosphere. A large thatched-roof patio with built-in fireplaces completes the picture. Views of valleys, mountains, and orchards provide ample opportunities to reflect, meditate and recharge the weary spirit. The cottage is equipped with linen, and down and wool duvets for colder nights, as well as cutlery and crockery, and everything else you may need to pursue your culinary desires.

Fish Eagle Cottage:

Fish Eagle has two bedrooms; one fitted with a double bed and the other with twin single beds. The bathroom leads off the main bedroom and has a solar-powered hot water shower. The delightfully quaint kitchen is fully equipped and the original huge fireplace has been maintained. A thatch-roof patio provides shade and shelter, even for the familiar chat bird, which has stoically refused to move, even during restoration. The yelping calls of the fish eagles can be heard daily and their fishing tactics observed from the koppie on which the cottage is situated. Views of valleys, mountains, and orchards provide ample opportunities to reflect, meditate and recharge the weary spirit. Each cottage is equipped with linen, and down and wool duvets for colder nights, as well as cutlery and crockery, and everything else you may need to pursue your culinary desires.

Nonnetjie Cottage:

A very pleasant stay, pity we only stayed the one night, we could have quite easily spent a full week there. Dale was very helpful and we enjoyed a drink with him later in the evening.
The cottages are small, but comfortable and very tastefully furnished. Definitely will be back.

A beautiful escape with wonderful hosts!
We were greeted with warm smiles and fresh home-made bread. The cottage was cozy and whilst it shared a retaining wall with the cottage next door it still felt secluded. The personal patio and braai area was our favourite!
The swimming pool was also fantastic as it looks out on to the mountains.
The location was just a short drive into town.
We can’t wait to see what our hosts do with the farm. We wish them all the best of luck on their new adventure and we are definitely keen to come back!

More than I expected. The cottages are kitted out with everything you need. The pool and covered entertainment area had the most amazing views and the amenities made our lives easy. I would recommend this venue for your next getaway and will definitely go again.

Excellent! Elsje and Lorecan were very friendly and accommodating! We stayed in Fish Eagle and it was very comfortable. It can get cold in the cottage but the linens kept us warm and cozy. The kitchen also had all the basics we needed so we could just bring our own food to cook. This accommodation isn’t far from the town so we were able to drive out every day which was great! The stargazing at 360 is breathtaking and the sun on the cottage during the day is also so lovely. The busy wildlife around the cottage, especially at night, makes you feel like you’re sleeping outside which was amazing! Loved our stay! Will definitely be back sometime!

We had the most wonderful weekend ever.
The hosts Johan and Elsje were incredibly helpful and friendly, we felt right at home.

The cottage was perfect and the attention to detail amazing!
Would have loved to have stayed longer, but will definitely be back.
Pictures and comments can not do justice to 360 on 62.
You have to go and experience it yourself!

May we also take the opportunity to thank Afristay.com for their help.
