Situated in the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve, within the world renowned iSimangaliso Wetland Park, this 20-bed wilderness lodge offers guests the unique opportunity of exploring a pristine wetland environment in guided canoes and vehicles. Swimming at the pristine and isolated Bhanga Nek beach, boat cruises through the 18km lake system and estuarine waterways, birding walks through the ancient Raffia Forest and interaction with the local Thonga people and their historic culture. Home to the Palm Nut Vulture and Pel's Fishing Owl, the area can be explored by keen birders at their leisure. Kosi Forest Lodge guests are accommodated in thatched bedrooms, on raised wooden decks, hidden in the sand forest. All beds have mosquito nets. Our unique open-air, reed enclosed bathrooms with the bath and shower sunk into white forest sand has been noted by our guests as one of the highlights of a visit. The last 9km are on dune roads and can only be accessed by 4x4 vehicle. Guests travelling in two wheel drive will be able to park their vehicles at a safe parking area in Manguzi (KwaNgwanase) and be transferred by lodge vehicle. There are two transfer times daily 12h00 and 16h00. The transfers have to be booked when confirming your reservation. The transfer time is approximately 25 minutes and there is no additional charge. Kosi Forest Lodge is a 45 minute - 1 hour drive from the beach.

Track turtles from Nov to Feb. Also excellent fishing.

A fabulous 40th wedding anniversary treat! We were treated like royalty by the staff. The food was fabulous and the canoe trip with George through a magnificent forest where we saw 6 Narina Trogons will be 1 of the highlights! A birdlovers dream spot ! Thank you
