90 km South-East of the Capital of Namibia, South-western Africa, a dainty game ranch abides in the midst of rolling hills vegetated by an ever-changing Eco-system.
Ankawini Safari Ranch is home to an abundant array of life, featuring over 30 species of antelope, in the surplus of 50 different bird species and an assortment of reptiles and predators. In the 'not-so-rare' case where the city life has made you feel that the world is small, stuffy and overfull, come and lose yourself in the clearly marked and mapped labyrinth of roads consisting of an impressive 200 km. Although there are roads which can be utilized by sedan cars, the Safari Ranch does not recommend the sole use of sedan cars.
Not the serene relaxed drive person? Ankawini Safari Ranch boasts paths for mountain biking as well as hiking.
Whether self-catering or camping , Ankawini caters for all of them.
Camp Omunguindi is named after the Herero word for Shepherd's Tree that is found around the Camp.
It consists out of two fully equipped, self-catering, luxury, semi- permanent tented units with a private deck and barbecue facilities. Two ¾ beds in each unit allows four to sleep but mattresses will be provided at a small cost on request if children are accompanied their parents. A solar system provides 220 V electricity to an energy saving A+ fridge and ultra energy saving LED lights. Limited 220 V power is available for our guest’s own appliances while firewood will be supplied for these campfire evenings on the deck. Wi-Fi and Cell phone coverage is not available at Camp Omunguindi but at the main lodge 3 km away. The main Lodge is still under development. Here the large pool may be utilized but extreme care should be taken on the building site. No formal bar or kiosk facilities are available as of yet.
Although the Castle is still being developed, it will make a great venue for conferences, corporate functions, team building and weddings. We at Ankawini understand your individual taste, therefor we offer an assortment of units. The Castle houses thirty different rustic rooms, varying from standard to luxury. While off the main premises, luxury self-catering units boast an experience which will rise above your African expectations.

Everything you need, accompanied with absolute privacy and spectacular views from the deck.
For an unforgettable experience, a very peaceful place with astonishing view, ideal for a homemade Barbecue with "meat pack" and delicious spices. Everything is on site to make it easy to cook there.
The owner Anton pays great attention to his guests, plus a lot of details to discover on site.
And kudu, springboks and many giraffes.... Easily to spot.
