Welcome to Blue Crane Farm - Trout and Wildlife Estate
Blue Crane Farm is an exceptional fly-fishing destination with two beautifully meticulous and well stocked trout dams. Our larger dam is an impressive 9 hectares in size and has several jetties to make your fly-fishing experience an even more enjoyable one.
This charming venue offers natural scenery with free roaming game species such as fallow deer, springbok, blesbuck, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebok. The birdlife is remarkable with several endangered species such as the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes that nest on the farm on a regular basis.
The accommodation on the farm consists of 8 well-appointed self-catering units, ranging from the smaller 2 sleeper cottage to our larger 8 sleeper houses. In total the farm can accommodate 44 guests, which makes Blue Crane Farm the ideal venue for small or larger group bookings.
The units offer privacy, although are easily accessible to walk from one to the other, should you have family or friends in a neighboring unit. All units face the waterfront, offering amazing views of the surrounding grasslands.

? Blue Crane Farm is situated approximately 10mins drive from the charming village of Dullstroom and is easily accessible from the R540, the main road between Belfast and Dullstroom.
? There are numerous excellent restaurants, shops, craft-beer brewery, whiskey, wine, and gin tasting, and cozy pubs that all form part of this popular tourist destination.
? Other nearby attractions include golf at the famous Ernie Els designed, Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate - approximately 25mins drive via the beautiful Kruisfontein Road, the Bird of Prey Center, mountain biking and horse riding.
? The gravel road leading from the main road to the entrance of Blue Crane Farm is well maintained and any low clearance vehicles can access these roads with ease.

? We offer all our guests the opportunity to enjoy nature by hiking or cycling on the farm.
? The farm border is approximately 6km if a circular route is taken. There are a number of interlinked farm roads over the hill that is lovely for hiking, cycling, or jogging.
? Taking a stroll around the big dam will be close to 1.5km-2km. The difficulty would be easy, all walks are on well-kept paths with no climbing involved.
? There are 2 beautiful manicured and well-stocked trout dams where guests can enjoy fly fishing. Both dams are stocked with brown and rainbow trout.

Magic place. Wonderful spot to unwind. Units are very well equipped - the wifi is a plus but the provision for dealing with loadsheading puts Blue Crane a notch above most other similar establishments. We'll be back.
Beautiful place to relax.
We had a lovely time staying at Blue Crane and will definitely return. Close to dullies but far enough away that you feel like you are in the country side. Units are clean and well maintained. We went in July expecting it to be freezing and the units were actually very well insulated.

Lovely setup, beautiful place. It was bitterly cold and an electric blanket would have made a big difference. If we were 4 people, the two oil heaters would not have been enough for the two bedrooms. Was a bit nervous security wise without power at times and being the last occupied house at the end - we were in Kingfisher and no-one was in the unit next door. Temperature was maximum 8 degrees on Sunday

Amazing location on a dam filled with different kinds of birds! There are buck that graze around the houses in the early morning! Such a pleasant stay!
