Goxhill Trout Lodge is located on a farm that is situated in Himeville on the boundary of the KZN Himeville Nature Reserve. Goxhill boasts the largest lake in the Underberg area. The Polela River which runs through the lake provides a natural breeding environment for trout.
Escape to the country, relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoors at Goxhill Trout Lodge. Take a tour of our working dairy where 1500 cows are milked daily. The Lodge offers comfortable self-catering accommodation, excellent trout waters and a host of activities in and around the nearby villages of Himeville and Underberg.

The lodge
The Lodge is a modernized historic farmhouse, which can accommodate 11 guests in four beautifully decorated bedrooms. Built more than 100 years ago, the "Gracious Lady" is carpeted and tiled throughout, and has a magnificent fireplace for those chilly evenings.
Kingfisher & Fish Eagle Cottages
The cottages are available as limited self-catering units, set in a lovely garden. Self-catering facilities include, a microwave oven, fridge/freezer, cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils and braai facilities.
Campsites
We have a number of campsites under the trees alongside the lodge, and overlooking the lake. Upmarket facilities are provided, and laundry can be arranged on request
Attractions and activities available:
The Underberg Country Club golf course is only a 10 minute drive away.
There are many hiking trails and day walks can be arranged in the mountains, either with or without a guide. There are a number of attractive shops in and around Underberg and Himeville, offering gifts, curios, and crafts. Beautiful framed, backed or rolled photography can be purchased on site.
Goxhill is a bird watcher's paradise. Flocks of crowned crane are often seen and it is also common to see fish eagle swooping down

Exquisite scenery - very tranquil..
Scenery is beautiful. Well worth a visit for anyone looking for peace and quiet. Lots of amazing hikes and outdoor activities. Road up to Sani Pass is not recommended. Only 4x4. Meal at the restaurant was very disappointing. But views from the top worth the effort!
