Elangeni Holiday Resort, Mpumalanga, South Africa, is situated on the banks of the Elands River, on the N4 between Waterval Boven and Nelspruit. The resort is in a low-risk malaria area and is the perfect breakaway to unspoiled nature.
The resort offers fishing, bird watching, nature walks, a swimming pool, a jungle gym, trampolines, self-catering chalets under shady trees, caravan and tent camping sites. Activities include river tubing, hiking, obstacle course, zip line and lots more. The resort is ideal for school group outings and corporate team building. There are a lapa and a stone hall for functions, a laundry, and a small shop.
In Room Facilities:We offer 12 fully equipped chalets:
* 8 double-storey units each with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge, and kitchen.
* 1 chalet is wheelchair friendly.
* 3 stand-alone chalets each with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, lounge, and kitchen.
Caravaning & camping:
Our caravan park has 50 stands with power points and two ablution facilities with gas operating showers. There are 50 caravan and tent sites with electrical connections. Hot and cold water, electric lights and power points are available.

Area Information:Established in 1898 as a railway depot, Waterval Boven is Dutch for Above Waterfall and is named after the waterfall in the Elands River.
The village of Waterval Boven is nestled in the Drakensberg Mountains on the fringe of the escarpment, at the foot of the South Hills. It is rich with historical sites and buildings which are now proclaimed national monuments.
There is also the old Tunnel and Five Arch Bridge, as well as President Paul Kruger's official residence where he resided in 1900 before going into exile in Europe. The Elands River Waterfall is visible from the mouth of the old Railway Tunnel. Horse riding and trout fishing are popular pastimes in the region. Among a number of hiking trails, the Elkandskrans Trail includes a 30-minute train ride between Waterval Boven and Waterval Onder.

As we were staying in an overnight hut we thought that we would need our own bedding but our beds were made up with fitted sheets when we arrived and there were enough blankets and pillows for an army! Overall, a very nice and comfortable experience. The people really went the extra mile to help with problems we thought we might encounter. Thank you very much, especially to Lisa and Ria for all the help!

The scenery and the history..
We want to thank Shamrock Arms for the amazing service, thorough communication and great food (with special effort to treat us to our liking) from the enquiry up until the minute we left. We were tired and emotionally going through the changes that a move normally bring. We have finally settled in and we are getting used to the traveling for shopping and other services, but we always pass Shamrock Arms with a smile!
Thank you to your staff... We mainly interacted with the manager, Martin (I apologize for not noting his surname), who went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. He even connected us with the necessary people when we found that there was broken into our house while we were sleeping in your lovely guest house.
He was of so much assistance and he made us feel calm, while I became agitated of leaving the guesthouse for check out time,while the police were still on their way to investigate the matter at the house. Him and his seniors made special arrangements and offered us a special price for another night. My husband slept in the house to ensure no further damage and my daughter and I could spend the rest of our day and night, in the safety and luxury of shamrock arms.
Thank you! You've gone above and beyond to serve us and that sure was welcoming to our new hometown.
Furthermore, I want to personally thank you for the effort and attention to detail on the lovely clean smell to your linen. We've spent many nights in clean beds in hotels/guest houses/lodges/etc., but the 1 thing that distinguished you from them; was climbing into the bed with that strong amazing clean smell and i also found much comfort in it when I attended to my daughter during the evenings. Thank you for that extra attention to detail and expense -it made it "home away from home".
We will gladly refer you to family and friends!
