We have a big outddoor pool ( 10 x 6m). We offer different nature based activities: a cheetah and leopard feeding drive, a game drive (27 different game species: 10 common, 10 rare and 7 very rare species). A scenic early mountain drive and horse riding. We have different well signposted walking trails from 1 hr to 5 hr, a week-end trail to climb the Khomas Eck Mountain 1850m and overnight at the Khomas Eck basecamp shelter. We have a fenced campsite, bush camping with 5 x 24/7 electricity boxes and an abolution bloc separate for ladies and men. Warm water: solar system. A zinc for dishwashing. We also have an open campsite (pioneer campsite) next to the river with a beautiful view of the landscape. The sites are much further apart (60-80 m). Electricity only in the unisex abolition bloc.Light, plug and USB. Warm water: donkie (wood) system. A zinc to was dishes. A shelter for long distance hiking clients.
Our 4 chalets are basic and for nature lovers, it is like up market camping, you must your bring your own gear and food. BUT you can have dinner at the main house. We have 2 chalets at the Hippo dam, 3 km from the farmhouse, and 2 chalets at Davidsdraai, 5 km from the farm house. The water place at Davidsdraai is illuminated during the night. At both chalets you will see constantly see water birds and game coming to drink at the lake.
We are just 30 km north of Windhoek and 20km off the A1/B1, total 50 km ( 45 min), and 90 km (90 min) from the international airport,Hosea Kutako. Practical on the way to Etosha National Park or Swakopmund at the coast. The area is part of the scenic unexpected beautiful Khomas Hochland mountain range. Historically we are next to the old ox wagon road to the coast, called the Bayroad.
In Room Facilities:
In our best rooms, 2x Felsenhouse, Africa room, Dama house are 3 star. KLS has 4 star. All 3 and 4 star rooms have aircon ( except Dama house), a mini-bar and tee/coffee station, Nespresso. KLS and Dama house have a kitchenette. All other rooms have coffee/tea station in the room and are fully furnished and have a patio. All have hot and cold water and bathroom ensuite. Family rooms have 3 or 4 beds.
Our attraction is the beautiful setting of the old colonial farmhouse overlooking a river valley, the distance to Windhoek and the international airport. Our main attraction is the well-known cheetah and leopard drive, still the best, and a game drive with many different game species like: oryx, giraffe, zebra, kudu, waterbuck, eland, impala....and even Hippo which you see at the end of the game drive. Other attractions: the early mountain drive, horse riding and the different short, long distance and weekend trails. Last not least: authentic farm, first and oldest Guest farm in Namibia, family run, only individual clients ( no busses), environmental friendly, 5 flowers in the namibia ECO award.
