'The Little Round House'is a super cozy thatch roof bungalow situated in a small secure thatched village. Enjoy the stunning sea views and easy beach access to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The gardens offer an abundance of trees and birdlife. A communal pool and tennis court are on the premises. Scuba diving, golf, surfing, shark cage diving, abseiling and mountain biking are all within reach from this off-the-beaten-track village of Mtwalume.
Recently renovated to an open plan unique experience, with copper basins and a pebble shower floor, it is a comfortable getaway house. This quaint cozy space has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The unit offers a relaxed lounge with a 'double bed sleeper couch' and a semi private bedroom. Ideal for 2 people with an option for 2 extra. We recommend that guests bring their own beach towels.
Relax under the shady tree in a hammock or enjoy eating outside next to the fire place. The village with its charming thatch roofs is nestled in the valley, overlooking the sea and the village of Mtwalume. Access the beach via a pedestrian pathway or by car.

Mtwalume is a small village 90km south of Durban in Kwa-Zulu Natal province, with a beach shop and a small grocery store for your neccessities. The sub tropical area offers a variety of activities and places of interest.
-Aliwal Shoal is a rocky reef which is the remains of an ancient sand dune. It has a diverse marine life including large predators and is popular as a recreational scuba diving destination.
-Oribi Gorge is a canyon eroded by rivers that have carved out nearly 30 kilometres covered with subtropical vegetation. Experience the highest gorge swing in the world.
-The Sardine Run is an annual phenomenon where millions of sardines swim north in the waters of southern KwaZulu-Natal during the winter months.
Mountain biking, abseiling, surfing, to name a few are in close proximity of our beautiful bungalow.
The South Coast is dotted with small coastal towns where fresh produce, shops and restaurants are in abundance.

"Little round house" don't be fooled by the name!!
The little round house is much more than just a cozy little rondawel.
It a absolute gem on the south coast.
We were very skeptical and both me and my wife had our own silent struggles regarding our reservation.
On arrival we were received by the owner Beulah who quickly orientated us and showed us around.
What a pleasant surprise!!
The little round house is sparkling clean with all the necessary equipment to make you forget about everything you had to leave at your house. From a candle to a iron the bedding the cutlery the bathroom everything was in tip top condition.
The beach: The beach is accessible from the complex approximately 10 min walk. I will suggest to rather drive if you have small children and elderly people with you, the uphill walk can be a bit tough after a long day at the beach. We stay at LRH during peak time and were surprised to be able to visit the beach every day without to many elements spoiling the fun and sun in the tide pool and the rest of the beach.
Roads: Be careful following the GPS shortest route setting you will be directed through the rural are the roads are not bad but you add to your travel time, stay on the N2 towards Port Shepstone and take the off ramp. The last few km of road are in a overall good condition with a odd pothole here and there.
Privacy: With a well kept garden surrounding TLRH you will enjoy more than enough privacy except for the cats that patrol once in a while.
Overall experience: Our family of four (me my wife and two sons) had a awesome time we enjoyed every moment and had a ball.
We will return!!
