Property Facilities:
Great care has been taken to create unique inspiring guest house accommodation with private patios so you can enjoy the beauty of Paternoster Manor from the comfort of your rooms. The guest house and rooms reflect our hosts own creative flair in colour, texture and line. Devoted to our guests, we apply attention to detail and impeccable yet unobtrusive service at all times.

Area Information:
Paternoster, meaning "Our Father" derives its name from the prayers of ship-wrecked Portuguese sailors. Paternoster is a small, quaint and picturesque fishing village about 145km (90 minutes drive) from Cape Town and 15km north west of Vredenburg.
A favourite weekend getaway destination for Capetonians, Paternoster is one of the oldest towns along the West Coast and is famous for its abundance of crayfish. Paternoster is an all year round destination famous for its traditional fisherman’s architecture and endless pristine sandy white beaches.
Visitors to Paternoster delight in watching whales and dolphins frolicking in the ocean (ten months of the year) and after the first spring rains fall the landscape is transformed by the millions of indigenous flowers which open and densely carpet the earth in bright bursts of colour (usually between late July and September).

For bird lovers, Paternoster is home to over 250 species of birds with seabirds (Seagulls, cormorants, sacred ibis and the Oystercatcher) using this coastline as their breeding ground.

Activities and attractions include Beach Buggy trip along the coastline, long walks on the beaches, fishing, boat and land based cray-fishing, diving and spear fishing excursions, hiking trails, mountain biking, sea kayaking are all popular activities.
Visit the nearby West Coast Fossil Park and the Cape Columbine lighthouse (the last manned lighthouse built in 1936).

In Room Facilities:
Our bedrooms are stylishly decorated and equipped with modern en-suite bathrooms, hairdryers, ample storage space, and television sets with a good choice of DSTV programs. For your refreshment, each room has a tea/coffee station with a fridge. Safes are provided for your valuables.
As you step over the threshold into Paternoster Manor, you might enjoy the sense of being wrapped in splendid seclusion. However, you will remain connected with your world: free wi-fi and boosted cell phone signal will help you to maintain communications with family and friends - or colleagues and associates - in distant places.

Attractions:
As your hosts at Paternoster Manor, our commitment is to promise memories that you will look back on with pleasure. While enjoying our hospitality, we hope you will get the most out of your stay in our beautiful village. We can assist you with reservations at Paternoster’s many fine restaurants, and with bookings for activities such as kayaking, fishing and horse-riding. We can also provide advice on outings to local attractions, and much more.
Beyond Paternoster, the West Coast promises a multitude of interesting outings. The beautiful Langebaan Lagoon offers many attractions including the West Coast National Park (a must-see during flower season in particular), kite-surfing, sailing and fishing.

Further afield there are numerous interesting places to visit:

The town of Darling is home to South Africa’s famous celebrity Peter-Dirk Uys aka Evita Peron. Here you can also find a diversity of arts, crafts and wineries, along with great restaurants and coffee shops.

Yzerfontein wit its beautiful long beaches and abundant flora, is worth a visit, as is Hopefield and its fascinating market.

At the West Coast Fossil Park you might feel young as you contemplate the ancient treasures of the millennia unearthed at this historical site. Excellent talks are given by guides at this attraction.

At Velddrif the Berg River cuts its green path to the sea and enters the Atlantic amidst a flurry of birdlife and boats. A trip with local guides is a great way to explore the waterways of Velddrif. And not far from this town, the settlements of St Helena Bay, Shelley Point, Britannia Bay, and Stompneus Bay are popular tourist spots.

More distant locations such as Elands Bay, Lamberts Bay, and Piketberg are great places to see; and at the foothills of the Cedarberg Mountains, the towns of Clan William and Malmesbury display their unique local charm through their historic architecture the warmth of their welcome to travellers.
The menu of possibilities in the unique Cape West Coast will keep you coming back for more! We would like to help you to feast on the delights of this stunning region.
