Arniston Seaside Cottages offers luxury self-catering accommodation in the popular seaside resort of Arniston. We are just a 2 hour drive from Cape Town and are set in one of the Cape's most exquisite locations, next to a 120-year-old fishing village, surrounded by pristine beaches and nature reserves. Our thatch-roofed cottages are within walking distance of safe and child-friendly beaches. The cottages are serviced daily, allowing you to live the relaxed lifestyle of Arniston.
Arniston was voted ‘One of the World’s Best Hideaways’ by Time Magazine. Here Mother Nature ensures that you get away from it all.
Arniston Seaside Cottages are 3-star graded by the South African Tourism Board. We offer many accommodation options – there are smaller units as well as larger cottages that can be combined to accommodate groups of any size, from a honeymoon couple to a party of 80. The peaceful ambience is enhanced by light and airy living areas and balconies with panoramic views of the endless unspoilt ocean. The cottages are suitable for children of all ages and you may also bring your pets, by arrangement. There is also so much to do in and around Arniston. You can swim, fish or snorkel on our unspoilt coastline or go for rewarding walks or bicycle rides on the endless shores.
In Room Facilities:Our luxury thatch-roofed cottages were designed in the Cape vernacular style. Their light and airy living areas are created by high exposed ceilings and quarry-tile floors. Some cottages have balconies with panoramic views of the ocean and the unspoiled coastline. The cottages are serviced daily, allowing you to live the relaxed lifestyle of Arniston.
Area Information:Arniston is situated at the foot of Africa and is sandwiched between two nature reserves. As you drive from the town of Caledon, famed for its hot springs, you’ll drive through the rolling hills of the Overberg to Bredasdorp, a good place to buy groceries and fuel if you’re staying in Arniston. The town also offers squash, tennis and horse-riding and has an interesting Shipwreck Museum which is well worth a visit. De Hoop Nature Reserve is a protected Cape Floral region and World Heritage Site. De Mond Nature Reserve is small but perfect. This beautiful coastal nature reserve, named for its siting at the mouth of a river, is one of the Western Cape’s natural gems.
Property Facilities:For those cosy winter days, Arniston Seaside Cottages have open indoor log fireplaces and electric blankets. Bedding, towels and soap are provided. We also have outdoor undercover barbecue areas (you can purchase firewood from our offices). The cottages are fully equipped and we also offer guest-house bouquet DStv. There is ample free parking.
Attractions:There is so much to do in Arniston. The family-friendly sandy beaches are all within walking distance of the cottages and are safe for swimming. You can go snorkelling in the warm and welcoming sea and the surfing is popular. The fishing here is excellent. There are beautiful walks on the endless unspoilt coastline. The whale watching is of the best and you are sure to spot the Southern Right whale frolicking in the turquoise-coloured sea. You may want to indulge in a traditional dinner in Kassiesbaai where guests are invited for an evening meal in one of the fishermen’s houses. Less than a 40 minute walk from the cottages is the most incredible natural feature, Waenhuiskrans Cave, an enormous sea cave which is only accessible at low tide.

Arniston Reviews
its away from everything and quiet
We enjoyed the wonderful sea, the view the laid back atmosphere, the local people and the wonderful fresh fish that we enjoyed.
The beautiful scenery and clean beaches. Very safe area and not overrun with people. Excellent for fishing, cycling and hiking. The Arniston Cave is a must to visit!
The close proximity to the ocean is amazing.
The beach is stunning. The cave is an impressive sight.
Neatness and quietness of the space.
The staff was e excellent
Friendly staff and great location.
The harbour and beach is within walking distance. Willeen's Restaurant and Mien's Tea Garden was excellent. We were safe and the locals were so friendly and welcoming.
Quiet and unspoilt!
We stayed at N3 seaside Cottage. What a peaceful break away. We often stay in the big seaside cottages. We would really like to recommend they give each cottage a good deep clean and have a look at replacing the stove tops (N3) was badly rusted and completely cracked. The house was in good shape just really needs very good cleaning after each stay. (spider webs on roofs, behind doors etc).(let it have the smell of a cleaned place).
We will for sure be back soon.
Thank you 👍
