Ngalali Retreat is a small family-run lodge nestled in the African bush bordering the well-known Kruger National Park. Situated in Grietjie private Nature Reserve, Balule within the Greater Kruger National Park. All the wild animals and the big 5 included are free to roam for thousand of hectares since many fences were put down in between the bordering reserves and the Kruger N.P. itself. Its rustic though cosy setting is perfect for those who want to leave behind the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in an informal and natural ambiance without renouncing comforts and delicious meals. The owners, a South African - Italian couple, live on-site, and they are pleased to welcome and assist their guests upon arrival and during their stay at Ngalali Retreat. Their friendly inclination and professional approach will enhance the guest's experience at the lodge. During your stay, you will view a lot of wildlife, either while sipping a drink from the stoop of the lodge or on a game drive from our private game viewer vehicle. For the fondest birdwatcher, we have abundant bird life too! Enjoy the enchanting elephants and wallowing warthogs bathing at our waterhole or the call of a lion while sitting around the campfire at night. There is an extensive garden with a large circular swimming pool, the property is fenced off so that you can enjoy walking outside your room in total safety.
We try to give our guests a quiet retreat, therefore there are no televisions. We do however provide free Wifi for your convenience, and there is cellphone reception everywhere.

Wild dogs (1) The Wild Dogs bedroom is a cozy budget room of 22 sqm with two twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub/shower and a large window overlooking the bush. Convenient for two adults or two children.

Zebras (2) The cozy Zebras bedroom is large enough to host comfortably two adults and a child with 1 queen size bed and 1 single bed completed by an en-suite bathroom with a large walk in shower. The entrance is from a nice communal patio.

Elephants (3) The Elephants room is our largest and luxurious en-suite bedroom, 33 sqm open plan room with two vanities and a beautiful bathtub with a large window overlooking the bush. A comfortable king bed with extra fine cotton linens will enrich your stay.

Balule Nature Reserve is a protected area in Limpopo Province, South Africa which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park as a member of the Associated Private Nature Reserves.
