Description of facilities:

Our Beach House offers either Bed and Breakfast or Self Catering for up to 8 guests. With luxury furnishings; a swimming pool with swimming towels included; luxury bathrooms which includes free-standing baths, shaver points, heated towel rails, separate large showers and fine cotton towels. The units consists of large Plasma TV with DVD and Satellite TV, wireless internet throughout the house, local telephone access, BBQ area and free-standing Webber BBQ. Large undercover outdoor deck with dining facilities, stocked wine and beer fridge local South African beer, wines and spirits to purchase, modern gas fireplace for cooler nights, lock up parking for 2 cars, serviced daily, with the finest quality bed linen with duvets and mohair blanket. Washing machine and tumble dryer, fully equipped kitchen with full sized fridge, microwave and dishwasher.

Bedrooms
The Beach House has 4 bedrooms:
Luxury Suite (King):
Set on the first (top) floor, this room has sweeping views of the Bushman's River Mouth, up-river, the Indian Ocean and the coastline down to Kwaaihoek. It is a king sized bedroom upstairs that includes a walk in robe with personal safe. Large bathroom with twin basins, free standing bath, large walk in shower, heated towel and shaver point. This bedroom has its own sitting room / study that includes a 2-seat sofa, armchair, coffee table, desk and chair. There is also a cabinet containing books on South Africa including bird and animal books. Both of these rooms lead on to a private balcony that has 2 x armchairs. The total upstairs area is approximately 70 sq meters.

Deluxe Suite (King):
A king sized bedroom on the ground floor with sweeping views of the Bushman's River Mouth, the Indian Ocean and the coastline. The room has a free standing cupboard with both hanging space and shelves. Large bathroom with basin, free standing bath, large walk in shower, heated towel rail and shaver point. This bedroom has a large sliding glass door that leads to the undercover outdoor deck, swimming pool and garden.

Family Suite (Queen & Twin):
Queen Sized bedroom on the ground floor that has a free standing cupboard, as with all of our bedrooms it has fine 100% cotton sheets, top quality duvets, pillows and hand dyed and spun mohair blankets. There is no view from this bedroom other than part of the garden

This Twin bedroom is also on the ground floor and has a large free standing cupboard. There is no coastal view from this bedroom, but it looks out onto the back courtyard.

The Queen & Twin bedrooms share a large bathroom. The bathroom is also full sized with large walk in shower, free-standing bath, heated towel rail and shaver point.

The town is nestled between two rivers, the Bushmans and the Kariega, and the edge of the sea. All this water and the warm Agulhas current makes Kenton a water sport mecca.

Just inland you'll find malaria free game reserves stocking a variety of game including the big 5, and further on, Grahamstown, home to the Annual Grahamstown Arts Festival and some of South Africa's best schools.

Activities include fishing, boating, skiing, kite-surfing, wind-surfing, canoeing, paddle-skiing, surf-skiing, diving, snorkeling, or just enjoying the waves.

The Kariega and Bushman's River are navigable for 15 and 30 kms respectively, ideal for fishing, bird watching and enjoying the forest and riverside landscapes. The area is surrounded by private and national game reserves for viewing the big 5 in a MALARIA FREE area. Day safaris can be organised at short notice.

For more organised activties, boat cruises and deep sea fishing trips are available while there are boat trips for whale & dolphin watching from nearby towns in season. Eco-adventures and scuba diving are on offer for the more adventurous. Other activties in the area include, art & artefacts, health spas and gyms and riding, hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as horse-riding on the beach. The Royal Port Alfred Golf course and Fish River Sun Golf Course are both in close proximity for that day of golfing relaxation.

A popular annual drawcard to the area is the Grahamstown Arts Festival which is located 40 minutes away. The Festival runs from 2 to 11 July this year and is jammed packed with fantastic shows and entertainment.

Alternatively just relax at the Beach House after a day of sunshine and fun and enjoy a drink and a BBQ at the edge of our swimming pool whilst gazing over the spectacular views.
