Ihlozi is the perfect bush getaway for guests looking for that extra bit of luxury and privacy. The entrance to Ihlozi is through two large wooden doors that lead into an open-plan living area with a fully fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge. The kitchen has a large double-door fridge/freezer and ample storage for food and other items for extended stays. You’ll find everything you need to cook with whether it’s on the 5-plate gas stove, oven or braai/BBQ.

The main living area opens up onto a massive deck area with an outdoor lounge, dining table and braai/BBQ. This space is generally where guests spend most of their time as there is a good chance of seeing the local wildlife walking through the bush garden

On either side of the main living area are 2 double, ensuite bedrooms as well as a TV room. From the main living area, it’s a short walk through the garden along raised walkways which are lit up at night creating an incredible outdoor ambience. The walkways lead to a swimming pool as well as a second bar/lounge area and 2 more double, ensuite bedrooms

Only a two hour drive from Durban and four hours from Johannesburg the entire area around the Hluhluwe Reserve, right down to the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, now a World Heritage Site, has been given over to animal conservation and game farms and visiting the region provides one with an abundance of Big Five viewing, over 350 species of bird and a variety of other wildlife including rhino, giraffe, wildebeest and many antelope species. Guests can also hire a guided quad bike tour through the bush!
