Enjoy views of the mighty Breede River from this quaint, spacious 2 bedroomed Thatch Fisherman’s Cottage nestled inside the truly unique "Breede River Lodge & Fishing Resort" in Wistsand / Port Beaufort, right on the banks of the mighty Breede River.
Situated in the tranquil town of Witsand only 3 hours drive from Cape Town towards the Garden Route.
Newly renovated & beautifully decorated the apartment has:
A Load-shedding inverter so you will never be in the dark !
A South facing private use patio with seating on the ground floor with partial views of the Breede River and a North facing outside communal garden with braai area and table bench make this cottage unique.
The main bedroom has a queen size bed and sleeper couch, and an en-suite bathroom with bath, basin, toilet. This bedroom leads out, through a glass sliding door, onto the lovely front facing patio on the ground floor – relax in bed and enjoy river views.
The upstairs loft bedroom, only accessible by a steep wooden staircase, has a nifty skylight with views of the river and two comfy single beds, hanging and packing space. Guests do need to be able to climb stairs to sleep in the loft bedroom.
Another bathroom downstairs has a shower, basin and toilet.
The spacious lounge area has plenty comfy seating, a dining room table, an indoor fireplace for cosy winter nights, TV with DSTV and glass sliding doors leading to the River facing patio. Relax on the patio and listen to the beautiful birdsong provided by a multitude of birds.
Wifi is provided too.
The open plan kitchen is fully equipped, dishwasher, undercounter oven, hob, fridge, kettle & toaster and all you will need to prepare great meals at home.
The Cottage is set towards to edge of the resort close to the Spasie Restaurant and the main gate and parking areas. Being fully self contained you can look forward to a vibrant get away in the unique Breede River Lodge.
Bedding and bath towels are provided - just bring you own Beach towels and toiletries.
Secure parking inside the gates for your car right outside the unit.
Please request info on Boat parking if you intend to bring your boat -- as we are not allowed to park boats in the car park -- but there are various options for Boat storage with different costs in Witsand !
River View Cottage offers a great getaway for couples or a family of 4 and access to the unspoilt paradise of Witsand. Rest, explore, swim, boat and fish beautiful Witsand !
Take a short walk through the complex to the sandy River bank of the warm Breede River or spend time at the resorts Pool. The Blue Flag swimming beach in Witsand is just a short drive away and the rock pools yields a plentiful harvest of oysters and mussels, with the relevant permits. There is also a dedicated jetty to launch your boat at the Lodge. Witsand is a kitesurfing mecca and has elaborate mountain bike trails for beginner to expert.
The famous Spasie Restaurant & Bar is 500m away and the little Town offers quaint coffee shops and a craft market and other shops.

Our stay at River View was very good,we really enjoyed our weekend.The cottage is lovely,
I think it's great for a young family but not for older people like myself because of the steps.
If you want peace and quiet, in a beautiful place look no further, wonderful stay.

The amazing Breede River, wild beaches, calm sand banks and majestic dunes are beautiful. Big sky's and peace and quiet. The Whale capital of SA.
A very unique place to visit.
We were at Barry's Guest house, everything was great, we had lots of fun and enjoyed the stay but the owners was a bit uptight the next morning after the next day , and the attitude AAAAg!
