45 Bell Rock is a chic, newly renovated, ground floor self-catering apartment located in the Bell Rock complex in Plettenberg Bay. Situated along Longships drive, guests visiting the estate can enjoy a quick stroll to the beach. The secure complex offers a communal swimming pool and braai and is within proximity of the Blue Flag swimming beach.
The apartment can accommodate up to 5 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The main bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The second bedroom contains a double bed, while the third bedroom contains a single bed. The guest bathroom is fitted with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. All linen is provided; however, guests are required to bring their own beach towels.
The beautiful kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a electric kettle, top stove kettle, gas hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and cutlery and crockery. There is also a washing machine and a dishwasher. The dining area has seating space for 6 people, while the lounge has a comfy leather couch and a wall-mounted 58-inch smart TV with Netflix and Showmax. Free Wi-Fi access is also provided.
The apartment features a private patio, braai area and extended grass area for kids to play.
The delicate pansy shell is indigenous to this part of the coast and is used as the symbol representing the town. Looking for these shells on Plettenberg Bay beaches is a popular activity amongst guests.
Activities in the area are plentiful with fabulous trails for hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders. Water sports include sailing, superb rock and surf fishing, paddling and scuba diving. Visit Wine Estates in the area to enjoy a wide range of activities from wine tasting to enjoying a lunch at the estates ever-popular restaurants set in the vineyards which overlook the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Wine lovers have a selection of wine farms one can visit.
Plettenberg Bay has a very rich marine life. Every year, between July and December our bay and the surrounding coastline is visited by Southern Right and Humpback whales. Our relatively warm waters are the perfect playground for the whales to mate and calve, and we are fortunate to be able to view these magnificent creatures from land and boat. Schools of playful dolphins can regularly be seen surfing the waves off the local beaches. There are boat-based tours available as well as marine safaris which provide a chance to see these gentle giants up close.
The massive Robberg Nature Reserve is the perfect spot for whale and dolphin viewing, bird watching, hiking trails and exploring the Nelson Bay Cave. The Robberg is a must see for all visitors with the Peninsula being home to a large Cape fur seal colony. Seals can often be seen in the surf off Robberg Beach. There are breath-taking views of the Robberg peninsula all along the trail as it follows along the rugged rocks with waves crashing below. Hike out to the Island which has a wooden broad walk patch encircling it and the views from the top will not disappoint you.
Tree top tours and bungee jumping are also available in the area, while craft, produce and dinner markets provide retail therapy. Visit Monkey land, Birds of Eden, Snake Park, Puzzle Park, Elephant Park and Wolf Sanctuary for a living forest experience that will stay with you forever.
On Saturday, there is a the fantastic Harkerville Saturday market between Plett and Knysna on the right-hand side of the N2. The market starts at 8h00 until about 12h00. The full Monty at Bundu Breakfast is delicious as well as the frozen fruit “ice cream”. The stalls all have something different and amazing to offer and the atmosphere is fantastic. Even better now is the Park Run next door. There is also the Friday Market at Knysna Montessori in Knysna from 16h00 till about 20h00 with live music.
