Wetlands Game Lodge is nestled between the Versamel mountains, with only a 3-hour drive from Pretoria. It is a great family getaway, romantic treat, wedding venue, and conference centre. The peaceful lodge is ideal for a family getaway, a romantic treat, a wedding venue, or just to rest and be rejuvenated by nature. Wetlands Game Lodge enjoys panoramic views of rolling green hills and tranquil bodies of water overflowing with unique birdlife, providing guests with a choice of rooms and units for friends and families looking to get away. The rooms are furnished with comfortable king-size beds, some of which can convert to twin beds and a combination of single beds, or queen-size beds. The lovely rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a bath and shower or a shower only. All accommodations offer tea and coffee-making facilities, Wi-Fi access, and a TV with DStv is available in the English Cottage only. In addition, some of the units have a living area with a full kitchen for self-catering or an outdoor braai area. Please note that high clearance or 4x4 vehicles are required during the rainy season when booking the Fisherman's Cottage. Situated at the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains, consisting of 10,500 hectares of mountainous grassland and Wetlands, Wetlands Game Lodge is a birder's paradise with over 300 species in the area and a wide variety of game and plant life can be seen on a game drive, quad bike adventure, or just by taking a stroll through the lodge. The lodge offers several activities, including horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, and fly fishing. Guests can visit the on-site restaurant and bar, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner arrangements can be made with the restaurant.

Very peaceful little town. This is the place if you need time off from the buzz off the city life and just rest and relax.
Beautiful for birders. To note - most things are closed during the week other than the Bakery open daily and the hotel so be sure to check this before going there if you are looking to eat out.
