Welcome to Shayamoya Rustic Bush Camp!

Shayamoya's uniqueness is attributed to genuine hospitality, ideal settings, the challenging sport of tiger fishing where the record is 8.3kg, the variety of other wildlife and birding activities – a must would be the boat cruise on Lake Jozini. Privately managed by the Blevin family who have lived in the area for many years, Shayamoya exudes a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Our Bush Camp is a rustic getaway, further from the madding crowd, in the heart of the
bush with a dam close by, which is frequently visited by the Cape buffalo, where they enjoy
wallowing in the mud. Marlboro storks and other birdlife are also seen frequently at the dam.

There are 5 Gemsbok tents, each furnished with a side table and 2 beds made up with linen and duvets. There are 2 ablution facilities with a shower, toilet and basin. The geyser is a form of donkey boiler, called a Rocket, but you need to make your own fire for the Rocket - a decent
fire will heat the water up in 15 minutes. The water is drinkable as it comes from our trusted borehole.

Self catering facilities include a big braai pit, a grid area and tripod to hang pots and a kettle over the fire, as well as kitchen fully stocked with utensils, a 2 plate gas cooker and 2 fridges with a small deep freeze section.

Wood is supplied, however you will be charged for additional wood should you require more

The rest of the camp is solar and gas energized, and lighting is provided in the form of solar Consol jars.

Bring your own:
Torches, extra blankets, toiletries, fire lighters and matches.

You are welcome to enjoy delicious meals at the Shayamoya restaurant.
