Trout River Falls is a beautiful trout fishing country lodge situated on the historical farm named Klipsteen, set amongst the valleys of the misty Steenkampsberg Mountains in Mpumalanga.

The lodge was established in 2003 and has been awarded four stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. The scenic property is surrounded by lush forests, cascading waterfalls and rolling mountains. There is an abundance of birdlife, indigenous forests and wildflowers that will leave you feeling totally relaxed in the tranquillity of nature.

Trout River falls is a well-established country lodge providing luxury self-catering accommodation, excellent service, and perfect fly fishing conditions for our guests. Our charming lodge is the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend getaway or an ideal stopover when travelling to the Kruger National park and other low-veld destinations. Trout River Falls is easily accessible off main road R540 between Dullstroom and Lydenburg

Trout River Falls offers up market accommodation for couples, families & larger groups. Our aim is to offer you personalised service to ensure your stay with us is enjoyable and memorable.

Our four-star luxury accommodation includes eight chalets. Each chalet can sleep two adults in either two single beds or one Queen size bed. An extra single bed can be added in each chalet for younger guests who wish to share with their parents. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom that is elegantly decorated, providing for the comfort and ultimate relaxation to our guests.

Our chalets are fully equipped, serviced daily and include:

oven, cutlery, crockery, cleaning aids

• Pet friendly: Please note: The units are not individually enclosed. The owner has 2 well trained dogs that have free roam of the property.

The venue requires a R 500 cash deposit to cover any potential damage to, or soiling of, our linen by your pets. This deposit will be refunded on departure provided there are no problems or issues.

ALL DOGS THAT VISIT TROUT RIVER FALLS HAVE TO BE SOCIALIZED. Your dogs must tolerate cats and other animals on the farm.

Please do not allow your pets to disturb wildlife which roams freely on the property.

Please do not bring your dog if she is on heat.

Please ensure that you control your male dog if he has not been castrated.

Trout River Falls trusts that you will not bring your pets in the event that they are injured or sick.

Please respect pet safety and ensure that your pets are vaccinated, de-wormed and have had tick and flea treatment at least 2 - 3 weeks prior to your booking. Proof of vaccination is required before you check-in.

Trout River Falls will not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, damage or death to your animal while staying with us. You bring your pets at your own risk.

Your animals may not be unattended or left alone.

Your dogs may not sleep on the couches/bed.

Please do not use our blankets/towels in the room for your pets. It is your responsibility to supply all your pet's belongings.

Please remember to bring your own towels & pet shampoo as your dog may get very dirty whilst visiting us.

Please note that any damage or death to the livestock or lodge animals will result in the guest being liable for all costs incurred.

General information:
Check-in from 14:00 - 17:00.
Late check-in or early check-in will incur a charge of R600.00.
Check-out time: 10:00.
Late check-out is available on request and will incur a charge of R600.00. Guests are then welcome to check-out at 12noon.
Early check in times: 12noon onwards ( If guests request to check-in earlier than 12noon, then a half day rate applies – please check with us beforehand.)
Breakfast is served daily from 9:00 until 11:00 hrs

Day visitors and day anglers are welcome unless the lodge has been booked on an exclusive basis. We advise that you call ahead to confirm that day facilities are available on the days that you wish to visit.

Fishing Rules: Trout River Falls is a Fly Fishing only venue, promoting catch and release only.
