Take a step back in time and sleep in a historical monument built in 1795 or the old goat cottage on this exquisite piece of farm property that has been lovingly restored. We practice regenerative farming and encourage biodiversity. This is a place to relax, reconnect and recharge. It is our happy place where we embrace all forms of wildlife and love our menagerie of domestic pets from pigs to turkeys to horses and lots of dogs. Not for you if you don’t like animals, if you do it’s paradise.

The goat cottage is an additional cottage that sleeps a family of four in an open-plan setting with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Both homes have braai pits and privacy but lend themselves to two families sharing or a group of friends enjoying the entire space to themselves. Our personal home is close by. Our animals roam freely in the garden providing endless entertainment. The town is a 5-minute drive away.

The first floor is furnished with a king-size bed, a day bed, and a cot for a small child on request, and has a private bathroom with a shower and a bath. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, tea and coffee facilities, a dining area, and a fireplace, and guests can relax in the private lounge. The downstairs room is furnished with a queen bed, a shower en suite, and a kitchenette with an induction plate, and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

The lovingly restored, open-plan Goat Cottage can accommodate 4 people. The air-conditioned cottage is furnished with a queen-size bed and 2 single beds, and has a private bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, a fridge, a tea and coffee station, and meals can be enjoyed in the dining area. Wi-Fi access is available to guests.

Zeekoegat Historical Homestead is situated 5 km from Riversdale at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains with the Sleeping Beauty mountain peak providing a distinctive backdrop for the town. In winter months, the surrounding areas come to life with floral displays. Heidelberg is 30 km away, and Stilbaai 46 km away.

Zeekoegat Historical Homestead offers guests a private fire pit at each of the units, parking, Wi-Fi access and air-conditioning in some of the units.
