Malachite Cottage is a beautifully restored period cottage a mere 5 minute walk from Wakkerstroom Village. With stunning views of the wetlands and mountains, Malachite is also pet friendly and fully fenced. As the property is situated on a very large stand, dogs have plenty of room to run free. The cottage has an open plan lounge / dining and kitchen area with a separate bedroom and full bathroom. All furnishings have been carefully chosen to depict the period and guests can enjoy a step back in time. The Lounge has a cosy fireplace, kitchen has a gas stove and oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is a double brass bed with electric blankets for chilly evenings and the bathroom consists of a shower and a restored original Victorian bath with the magnificent view of the wetlands. The outside undercover patio has a braai and firepit. Guests are supplied with Shower Gel and Bath Soak, wood, briquettes, firelighters and a set of complimentary seasonings. The perfect place to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle, sit back in Malachite and watch for the Crowned Cranes, or take a leisurely walk into the village.

Very peaceful little town. This is the place if you need time off from the buzz off the city life and just rest and relax.
Beautiful for birders. To note - most things are closed during the week other than the Bakery open daily and the hotel so be sure to check this before going there if you are looking to eat out.
