Sky Island Paragliding Resort is situated in Ponta Malongane in southern Mozambique, just 15 km from the Kosi Bay border post with South Africa. It is the world’s first paragliding resort. The resort is built on top of a coastal ridge, set in natural dune vegetation, and designed to be the world’s greenest hotel. Accommodation is offered in Meadow Chalets, Food Forest Tents and Super Deluxe Camps.
Our Meadow Chalets are self-catering units, each with its own kitchenette which has all the necessary kitchen equipment you would require, including a stove, fridge and microwave. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom and comes fitted with a King size bed as well as a sleeper couch that converts into a comfortable single bed. They are all equipped with a TV, an overhead fan, private patio, outside shower, braai facilities and free Wi-Fi, room service and breakfast. Our Meadow Chalets are surrounded by unspoiled nature and a view of the vast open grassy fields. Using only materials from the land, the chalets have been built to breathe during summer and insulate for the winter.
Set overlooking the peaceful food forest garden, the Food Forest Tents are large safari tents, each with its own outdoor toilet and shower, each room comes with a fridge, coffee station and fan. Our luxury food forest tents come fully equipped with a king-size bed or 2 singles with luxuriously soft white linen, a tea/coffee station, electricity, power points, braai facilities, ample storage space and includes room service & breakfast. Each campsite has its very own private toilet and shower, an outside hot water wash area and privacy from neighbors.
The Super Deluxe Camps are an ideal camping experience set in the dune forest under tall shade trees. perfect for families or groups, each camp is set up with a unique outdoor shower and toilet. Each of our 3 camps have 3 safari tents and have everything you need, with a king-size bed, fan, wardrobe and charging points. Each camp is equipped with a coffee station, fridge, braai and outdoor seating.
The resort offers a restaurant and bar, accommodation and the chance to participate in the sport of paragliding from one of the world's best launch sites. A 4x4 is needed to reach the resort, or you can park in Ponta do Ouro and a shuttle can be arranged at a fee to transfer you to the resort.

Nice food and vibe
Very run down, hard to find decent food.
But the beaches are amazing, most resorts have taken a toll, but the vibe makes up for it 100 times over..

Worst experience of my life. We were told that our Vw tiguan Rline with 20 inch rims wouldnt have a problem getting to her place. There were 2 ways to get there. We got stuck in the sand on the 1st attempt, thank God for the helpful locals. Erna Smith didnt even answer her phone when we told we were stuck. We pleaded with her to atleast refund us 50% of the the total amount she requested upfront and paid in full 3 weeks earlier as she insisted. But she eventually rocked up at Melting pot restaurant where we told we were waiting. We eventually got a hold of her and said she will meet us melting pot. She arrived fuming and asked her to follow to another way in. We again got stuck and she even tried driving my vehicle out but failed. Again the locals came to the rescue. We pleaded with her to refund us atleast 50% so we could book a place that we could atleast drive to. But she said she is broke and will give us the 50% in 2 months time, which we knew was a lie. We asked her to follow us to the police station to get this sorted out. She said she had friends in the police station and she didnt care and we must follow her to the police. But she chickened out and left us to go find another place. We were left stranded with 3 kids in a car for hours at each point. She was rude and really inhumane. Thankful for Tri M wild waves who watched everything and made us and kids very comfortable. Won't want to visit again due to this ill treatment .
