Vrugtegeur Farm offers self-catering accommodation and is nestled in the breathtaking Koo Valley off the R318, and 35 km from Montagu and a 2 to 3-hour drive from Cape Town International Airport.
Accommodation comprises 1 self-catering guest house, which can accommodate 8 guests comfortably. The fully furnished farmhouse consists of 4 bedrooms - 2 of the 4 bedrooms with on suite bathrooms and 1 full bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, living area with a fireplace and a entertainment/dinner area with a build-in braai. The entertainment area leads out onto a garden. Guests can make use of the free Wi-Fi access, braai/bbq facilities, stainless steel pizza oven and table tennis table in the garage.
The farm has been in the Rossouw family for six generations. Starting with diverse farming of grain, sheep, brandy, apples, pears and apricots 300 years ago, it was narrowed down to an export apple and pear farm until recently. Our dad Johannes - who was the last generation interested in farming and did so until he was 80 - left the farm in January 2023 at the age of 92 with the following words to his four children: “Please do not ever sell this farm, you do not have to farm here anymore but keep it – make it a holiday destination” And it is with this wish of Johannes Rossouw that the dream for Vrugtegeur guest houses and holiday farms was born. We are extraordinarily excited to give all our guests from all over the world visiting us a piece of Vrugtegeur to keep in their hearts forever.

The tranquility, historical few places, cleanliness and friendly inhabitants.
Came up to Montagu for a climbing course with Blue Mountain Adventures and stayed at the Tolhuis with two friends. It was just perfect. Firstly the location, it was only mere meters away from our first day's location for climbing , LEGOLAND. We could literally stop and walk up to our accommodation for a coffee and lunch break! The place itself was just perfect for the 3 of us. Great little braai area where we enjoyed our evenings and the place is simple and humble yet stylish! The hosts, Michelle, Ivan, and Jason their 6-month-old puppy were just very warm and accommodating. Thank you!
