Maltahöhe Self Catering is conveniently situated at the back of the Puma Service Station (Maltahöhe Service Station) in Maltahöhe and offers guests comfortably furnished self-catering accommodation with easy access to the on-site, Lily Deli.

Built in 1950, the quaint house was converted to lovely cottages and can accommodate between 3 to 4 people. The original cement flooring and ceilings contribute to the small-town charm of the area and guests can enjoy the sounds of donkey carts passing in the street.

Each of the lovely cottages has 2 bedrooms, a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The Triple Cottage is furnished with a queen-size bed and a three-quarter bed, while the Family Cottage contains 2 three-quarter beds in each room. The bathrooms are fitted with showers, basins and toilets, and towels are provided.

The kitchens are equipped with 2-plate stoves and ovens, microwaves, small fridges, tea and coffee facilities, cutlery and crockery and a dining area. The Family Cottage has a comfortable lounge area, but please note neither cottage has a TV but Wi-Fi access is available. The cottages are fully self-catering but a bed and breakfast option can be added between the hours of 07h00 and 18h00 at the adjacent Lily Deli on request at an additional cost.

Secure parking within a fenced property with CCTV is provided.

Maltahöhe Self Catering is centrally located and approximately 100 meters away from the basic amenities the town provides. The Lily Deli, named after the lily phenomenon that occurs approximately 40 km away on farm Sandhof, serves breakfast, lunch, and early dinners as well as the best coffee in town. Gifts and locally produced products, synonymous with the culture of Namibia are also sold here.

Maltahöhe is a village in southern central Namibia close to the Swartrand escarpment, about 110 km west of Mariental in the Hardap Region. The small town of more than 120 years became a small hub for tourism, serving as a gateway to popular destinations like the Sossusvlei, Solitaire, Sesriem, and Duwisib Castle. The Maltahöhe Hotel was founded in 1907 and is the oldest country hotel in Namibia. You can enjoy some old architecture, churches and buildings. There only service station in town is right at the back of Maltahöhe Self Catering.

The farm Sandhof is located approximately 40 km from Maltahöhe on the D861 dirt road and is known for the phenomenon that occurs once the area has received enough rain for the lilies to bloom. When there is enough rainwater in the approximate 700-hectare pan, striking pale pink or white flowers are produced. The plants need approximately 15 to 30 cm of water to bloom, which occurs only every few years. When the lilies do bloom, they do so for only 6 to 8 days, and due to the short period and remote location of the farm, it is extremely rare to witness.
