Our beautiful farm Thabametsi (meaning Mountain Water) lies between two koppies overlooking the valley to the Witwatersrand Mountains. We have a mixture of agricultural and wilderness areas making it fairly unique. Grasslands for the animals to graze on and the wilderness areas that provide shelter for the little creatures – squirrels, monkeys, buck, mongoose, porcupines, jackal, civets and even a serval that has made the farm its home. We cater to families and couples in our self catering cottages. Children are welcome and there are many activities to keep them occupied whilst our dog visitors are free to run and explore the open spaces #petfriendly

I have only compliments.. Everything was wonderful!!! Thank you for a superb, beautiful, peaceful & tranquil environment to get away from the hustle & bustle of Joburg. As much as my 3 small, well socialised fur kids were overwhelmed at all these farm animals they were seeing for the first time, they had a ball & came back home exhausted. It's 100% self-catering, & charcoal & firelighters are available to buy here. Hope to see u again soon!!!
Wow Thabametsi was magical, I came back rejuvenated, full of life and feeling young. I will definitely revisit the place. The place is user friendly for children. They really enjoyed themselves and the place is also safe. Kids loved the place and it kept them busy too.
A nice and peaceful break away from the city. Lovely place! Enjoyed every minute!
Very happy with this accommodation! We were with our two daughters and fortunately with our dog. There aren’t many places allowing dog, but ours is a very important part of our family. So this time we could have it with us.
Very beautiful place! People working there-very friendly and helpful. For the kids was so nice to play free around all the animals.
Everything very clean!
The host lady is so kind!
Definitely recommend that place!
We enjoyed our stay at Thabametsi and the hosts were really nice and accomodating. The kids really enjoyed the activities and animals. Just a note, you need to go outside to get to the kitchen and bathroom which in winter isn't ideal.
Nice and relaxing weekend!
We had such a lovely stay, so peaceful and relaxing. Judy and her staff were very nice and friendly and the baked bread and scones were a winner. Canoeing on the dam was so much fun and the walks around the farm were wonderful. All the other guests we met at the pool or on a walk had been there MANY times before and keep coming back which tells you how nice it is. We will definately be visiting again soon.
Had a relaxing stay at Thabametsi farm and I’m definitely going back again. Judy and her staff are amazing. Thank you guys for the hospitality.

Magaliesburg Reviews
Travel by day prevents being surprised by potholes, so pack in some patience when heading this way. Magaliesburg's Little Roadhouse had friendly service and fabulous slap chips. The Route 66 Events held at Mt Grace Hotel were most enjoyable. Looking forward to our next visit.
