Desert Camp is situated only 5 km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon in the Namib Naukluft Park. Nestled under centuries old thorn trees, Desert Camp offers an unsurpassed view over the desert landscape and surrounding mountains.
The affordable, self-catering accommodation units are equipped with an en-suite bathroom, shaded veranda with a fitted kitchenette, barbeque, power points and an adjacent parking area. Each air-conditioned twin-bedded bedroom features a fold-out sleeper couch where 2 small children (under 12) can be accommodated for free when sharing with their parents.
Facilities at the main building include a fully stocked and serviced bar with big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool and 2 communal boma-areas which are perfect for groups travelling together. Fresh food supplies can be ordered daily at reception.
Meals (Breakfast & Dinner) can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant at an additional cost. Exciting desert activities like Guided Excursions to Sossusvlei, Walks to Elim Dune, Sundowner Drives and magnificent Scenic Flights over the dunes and coast can be booked at the Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre.

Reviews
A wonderful place to stay, Very comfortable chalets with all amenities, comfortable beds, hot water etc etc. Very friendly staff.
Close to Sasriem for going to the dunes. Lovely pool and bar.
We had a fantastic stay at Desert Camp. My only suggestion would be to please inform guests that crockery etc is available when booking.
We had limited time so we could only stay 1 night. The camp was magnificent and very well maintained. I have 2 suggestions
1)the distances are vast so if one arrives a little later ( we were there at 16h10) surely an exception can be made for a drive to sossusvlei. We were told the cutoff was 16h00 and that was that. We then drove in ourselves and made it in plenty of time, but at the 2x4 carpark there were 5 vehicles with keys but not one driver to be found. Not even for some advice.
2) At Desert Camp could a fire not be made if people want to braai or even a type of bush braai (At a cost obviously) as it would have been nice not to have to drive to the main lodge for dinner. We have been travelling too far to keep everything cold. Just some meat and salad, not as fancy as the lodge dinner.
The camp itself was lovely and felt very exclusive.
We really enjoyed staying there. The staff were friendly, accomodating and helpful. Would REALLY stay there again and recommend to friends!
