This is heartland South African wine country. Franschhoek has a unique feel of little Europe and is known as the Food and Wine Capital of the Cape. This quaint town is only a 45-minute drive away from Cape Town and 5-minutes from Grande Provence. Enjoy the wine estates, many restaurants and other local mouthwatering delights that tantalise your taste buds. What a fantastic experience on the Franschoek Wine Tram! 10 stars from us. Take some time to research which estates you would like to visit to choose the best route. We chose the Grey route and stopped at Franschoek Cellar, Leopards Leap and Rickety Bridge as these were all child friendly options. We will definitely be back without the kids ;) Also, great service and food at the River Café.

Superb. 5 out of 5
