Although the place is undergoing renovations, you can still enjoy it's beauty. Due to our jobs, we often go to places that offer tranquility and peace - Out of Africa Lodge delivered on that. We would have liked a bigger pool, but we understand that the place is also known for weddings and events. Our room had a jacuzzi bath which was amazing on New Year's Eve. I loved the privacy and cuteness of the braai area - a really lovely and unique add on. We walked around a lot with curious birds and clear blue skies. We forgot about time and just enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets. We were also blessed to be meters from a giraffe family that wandered into the lodge area. As happy as we were to take photographs of them, they seemed unperturbed by us and went about feeding, eyeing us ever so often with curiosity. We sat with them for almost an hour - an experience that we will always look back on fondly :) We did let Hannes know that we will be returning. Need to try out that fireplace :)
Hi. Our stay was good. Awesome to see the giraffes and some buck.
What a lovely short time spent at the lodge.
Will definitely be back and loved the jacuzzi in the room , the rooms are neat and clean.
I enjoyed my stay at the lodge, but the problem was with the swimming pool. The pool was too small. Only two people can share the pool.
Our stay was the best. Went on a short left girls outing which was great after the year we had. From Sonja at the reception to clean linen and clean chalet. Even if the pool was a disappointment, the service and hospitality made up for it.
Loved every detail about the place, enjoyed my stay, definitely coming back .....
African experience to remember excellent accommodation with wildlife at your doorstep

Hartbeespoort Dam Reviews
The scenic route around the mountain.
It is a good area with lots to do including walking with elephants and eating at different restaurants.
Boat cruise and game drive.
Speed boat.

The people are friendly and there was many shops around to buy stuff.
Dockside Restaurant was the best.
The tranquility.
I did LOVE everything about the Hartbeespoort dam, the people there are the best and so friendly. They let you feel at home. If one person says he didn't been at Hartbeespoort dam then it is time to go. I was part of the cleaning up at the dam, and it is very sad to see the dam in this condition. It makes a person ask yourself where did all the money goes to clean that beautiful dam ?????. I also wonder if Kosmos, Ifafi Meerhof, Oberon, and the Beautiful Scomansville are trying to help to clean the dam on there own or are they still deny it's NOT part of there responsibilities it's only a Question. I really hope that someone there will stand up and try to clean that beautiful dam so that the young generation can enjoy it too. There is nothing more beautiful than the Hartbeespoort Dam and the beauty of nature.
From Andre
